Easy and quick homemade vegan Cheese Sauce. Try this Nooch Cheese Sauce with Nutritional Yeast Flakes. Perfect for Lasagne or Mac & Cheese.

2 tablespoons coconut oil (or vegan butter e.g. EarthBalance, Alsan,...)
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika powder
ground pepper
1 pinch garlic powder
1/3 cup nutritional yeast
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Heat the coconut oil or butter in a small pot on low heat.
  • Add the salt, pepper, paprika powder, curry powder & garlic powder.
  • Add in the flour and whisk.
  • Add nutritional yeast, whisk again until clumpy.
  • Add the water and whisk on low heat for a few minutes. If it gets too thick you can add a little bit more water and whisk again.
  • Use it as a dip, pour it over some lasagne or pizza or whatever you like. Enjoy!

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
7 slices processed American cheese
½ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in flour. Pour in the milk and stir until the mixture thickens. Stirring constantly, mix in cheese and salt. Continue to cook and stir until cheese has melted and all ingredients are well blended, about 15 minutes.

2 tbsp lime juice (fresh squeezed)
1 cup cashews (soaked 1 hour)
¼ cup nutritional yeast
1 cup water
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Steps:

  • combine all ingredients in high powered blender. Blend for 3 minutes on high speed.

A beautiful creamy and savory sauce made with nutritional yeast and a few other delicious add-ins. Perfect for SO many uses. I like it on burgers, with chips, or on veggies!

Time 25m

Yield About 2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/4 cup coconut oil
1 shallot, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1 cup roasted cashews
1 cup water
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup nutritional yeast
Pinch of salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Add coconut oil to a medium pot over medium heat. Once melted, add shallot and garlic and cook for two minutes until fragrant.
  • Add flour to the pot with paprika and stir to combine. Let cook for a minute to cook out any flour taste.
  • Add cashews, water, and almond milk and bring to a simmer. Stir in nutritional yeast and turn heat down to low. Simmer for 8-10 minutes until cashews soften slightly.
  • Let mixture cool slightly until it isn't steaming hot and transfer mixture to a blender. Blend until very smooth. If it seems very thick, add more almond milk or water in 2 tablespoon batches.
  • Once blended and smooth, return to pot and keep warm until serving over low heat. Season sauce to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Sauce will stay liquid as it cools, but will solidify a bit. If you want to thin it out again, reheat it gently over low heat and add a tablespoon or two of liquid back to it.

4 cups whole milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 hot baked potatoes

Steps:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Reduce heat; add the cheese. Cook and stir until cheese is melted., Serve 1-1/2 cups of cheese sauce with the baked potatoes. Refrigerate remaining sauce.

1/3 cup carrot, peeled and cooked
1/3 cup white flour (I used half of that amount of cornstarch so that it would be gluten free)
1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons salt

Steps:

  • Blend all ingredients together in a blender.
  • Pour into pan and stir until boils and thickens.
  • Take off heat and pour into noodles, over broccoli or potatoes, etc.
