SLOW COOKER ITALIAN BEEF
Tender and juicy, this Slow Cooker Italian Beef is mouthwateringly amazing! This recipe is fork tender with a tangy zippy broth. You are going to love it!

Steps:
- Salt and pepper the beef roast. Heat a large skillet over high heat with the canola oil. Add the roast and sear each side for 2-3 minutes until it forms a golden seared crust. Place the roast in a 5 quart slow cooker.
- Add the beef consommé, italian seasoning, garlic powder, italian seasoning and pepperoncini to the slow cooker. Top roast with butter slices.
- Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6 hours. Shred the roast with a fork. Serve on hoagies topped with provolone cheese and additional pepperoncinis if desired.
SLOW COOKER ITALIAN BEEF FOR SANDWICHES
This makes a sandwich similar to one I used to get at a local restaurant when I lived in a suburb of Chicago. My all time favorite! Serve on crusty rolls with roasted sweet or hot peppers, if desired.

Steps:
- Combine water with salt, ground black pepper, oregano, basil, onion salt, parsley, garlic powder, bay leaf, and salad dressing mix in a saucepan. Stir well, and bring to a boil.
- Place roast in slow cooker, and pour salad dressing mixture over the meat.
- Cover, and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours, or on High for 4 to 5 hours. When done, remove bay leaf, and shred meat with a fork.

SLOW COOKER ITALIAN BEEF
This started out as an RV recipe but I use it all time for my Chicago Italian Beef fix. Rump roast is the best to use. It must be "zesty" not just Italian dressing. The original recipe recommends 24 hours cooking time but this is usually done in 15-20 hours.

Steps:
- Mix water, both packets and garlic. Place roast in slow cooker. Pour mixed packets and water mixture over roast. Cover. Cook on low 12 hours.
- Mix water with both packets,water and garlic. Add roast to slow cooker and pour mixture over roast. Cook on low 10-12 hours. Remove roast from cooker, slice and return to cooker. Cook an additional 8-12 hours on low. Serve on Italian/French bread buns with bell/hot peppers.

Recipe originally called for a chuck roast but the picture was definitely not a chuck roast. Next time, I will buy a better cut of meat. It also called for beef broth but due to sodium, I used water and it was really tasty that way.

- Place beef chuck roast into a slow cooker and scatter onion quarters around the meat. Pour the water over the meat and sprinkle the au jus mix, Italian salad dressing mix, salt, and black pepper over the roast.

I got this recipe from my sister years ago and when I make it for friends they always ask for the recipe. I usually add more spices then the recipe calls for and add peppers on the beef with rolls when done.. Enjoy!!

- Put all ingredients in crock pot and Cook in crock pot around 6-7 hours on high that way when it's done all you have to do is shred it because it's so tender.
