Sangria is a fruit-infused wine punch. Though often made with red wine, this white wine version is a delicious accompaniment to summer grilling.

1 (16 ounce) package frozen peaches, thawed
1/4 cup honey
1 cup orange juice
1 (750 ml) bottle Chardonnay wine, chilled
1 cup domaine de canton ginger liqueur
soda water or seltzer water, to serve
fresh strawberries, for garnish
fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine the peaches, honey and orange juice. Blend until smooth. Pour it into a pitcher, then stir in the chardonnay and ginger liqueur.
  • Chill.
  • To serve, fill glasses halfway with soda water or seltzer, then top it with the sangria and stir gently. Garnish with fresh strawberries and mint leaves.

1 orange, peeled and chopped
1 small apple, chopped
1/2 banana, peeled and sliced (slightly under-ripe)
1/2 cup canned pineapple chunk, drained
1 (750 ml) bottle red wine (try pinot noir)
1 cup reduced-calorie cranberry juice cocktail
1 1/2 cups diet lemon-lime soda

Steps:

  • Stir fruit, wine, and cranberry juice into a large glass pitcher; cover and refrigerate 5 hours or overnight.
  • Just before serving, stir in diet soda.
  • Pour over ice, dividing the fruit equally among the serving glasses.

This would be great for Valentines day...you and your "honey" together with a romantic dinner and a pitcher of sangria.

1 (750 ml) bottle sweet white wine (I like Riesling)
1/4 cup brandy
1/4 cup triple sec
1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice
3 blood orange juice
2 key limes, juice of
1 lemon, juice of
1/2 cup honey
1 blood orange, sliced into rounds
1 key lime, sliced into rounds
1 lemon, sliced into rounds
12 maraschino cherries
1 liter club soda or 1 liter carbonated beverages (7-Up, 7-Up if you like sweeter)

Steps:

  • Mix honey into wine until smooth. Then add remaining ingredients to a large pitcher except club soda, and chill overnight.
  • The next day, add ice to pitcher and serve in wine glasses with some fruit added to each glass, and topping up with club soda or 7-Up to make the sangria sparkle.

2 dessert apples, honeycrisp
750 ml sweet white wine, Chardonnay
1/3 cup peach schnapps
1/4 cup Pisco
1/4 cup honey
2 oranges, quartered
1 lemon, quartered
1 lime, quartered
2 cinnamon sticks
2 slices fresh ginger
3 whole cloves
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
ice
club soda
mint sprig

Steps:

  • Peel, core and chop one of the apples. In a bowl, combine the Chardonnay, Schnapps, pisco and honey. Add the quartered orange, the lemon, lime, cinnamon sticks, the chopped apple, ginger and cloves and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Strain the sangria into a pitcher. Peel, core and finely chop the remaining apple. Peel, section and chop the remaining orange. Mix the apple and orange in a bowl.
  • On a small plate, blend the sugar and cinnamon. Moisten the rims of wine glasses and dip in the cinnamon sugar to coat. Fill the glasses with ice. Pour in the sangria until three-quarters full. Top with a splash of club soda. Garnish with a spoonful of the chopped apple and orange and a mint sprig.
