MRS. FIELD'S OATMEAL COOKIES

Mrs. Field's Oatmeal Cookies image

I've been searching for a good Oatmeal Cookie recipe for a while but the ones I came across always had some ingredient that I was allergic to. I got this recipe from one of my students when I gave them a gag homework assignment. They were to find me an oatmeal cookie recipe that doesn't have nuts or shortening as I am allergic to both. Who knew that it would be one of the few assignment they completed that week (smile). I got many entries but, if I was grading this assignment, this child would definetly get an A+ but, how could you loose with a recipe from Mrs. Fields? This recipe makes a lot of cookies.

MRS. FIELD'S COOKIES

Mrs. Field's Cookies image

As far as I know this is an authentic Mrs. Field's cookie recipe. These cookies are some of the tastiest I've ever had. They are hard on the outside, but soft and delicious on the inside. It's our family' favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe! When you take the cookies out of the oven they will seem a little softer than an average batch of cookies, but not to worry, they firm up right away. I hope you enjoy them!!

Time 35m

Yield 48 Cookies, 48 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Combine softened butter and both sugars in a mixing bowl. Whip together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla. Mix until well combined.

Put the milk chocolate chips into the food processor and chop into small pieces. Using the electric mixer, add them to the dough. Now stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips with a spoon.
  • Drop golf ball sized balls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool on a wire rack for an additional 10 minutes. Enjoy!

SECRET OFFICIAL MRS. FIELD'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE (HONEST!)

Secret Official Mrs. Field's Chocolate Chip Cookie (Honest!) image

This is the real recipe... I promise! I got it from a secret source and I would like to thank him/her for giving it to me. It's INCREDIBLE!! Crispy on the outside and chewy in the inside. To achieve this fantastic cookie, just follow the recipe accurately by measuring (not using the cups).Oh, and don't forget to review how your cookies went! PS:(Honest feedback so maybe I can improve it? haha...) How to soften butter. Cut the stick (or sticks) or butter lengthwise into halves. This will help the butter to soften quicker and evenly. Wait approximately 10 minutes (depending upon how hot your kitchen is). Then, with a finger, press gently on the butter. If it leaves an indent in the butter, the butter is soft enough to start whipping "creaming" it. How to brown butter Start melting butter over medium heat. Use a pan with a light-colored bottom so you can keep track of the color. Swirl the pan occasionally to be sure the butter is cooking evenly. As the butter melts, it will begin to foam. The color will progress from lemony-yellow to golden-tan to, finally, a toasty-brown. Once you smell that nutty aroma, take the pan off the heat and transfer the browned butter into a heat-proof bowl to cool.
