Milwaukee Style Old Fashioned Food
MOMMA PRICE'S GREAT OLD FASHIONED TEXAS PUNCH
This punch comes from Hondo, Texas. It's an old family recipe I adopted from a dear friend of mine. The friend's mother, a preacher's wife, would make it for neighborhood functions. All I can say is, that must have been one happy neighborhood.

Steps:
- Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, put in punch bowl. Add remaining ingredients and mix together. Add the 7-Up just before serving.
FROZEN OLD FASHIONED

Steps:
- The night before, pour the cherry juice into ice cube molds and freeze.
- To a blender, add the bourbon, Simple Syrup, bitters, cherry ice cubes and regular ice cubes and blend until smooth. Pour into rocks glasses or insulated tumblers and garnish with a thick orange peel.
- Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepot and bring to a simmer. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved, then chill until ready to use.
MILWAUKEE-STYLE OLD FASHIONED
Steps:
- Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice. In a mason jar, combine the brandy, Simple Syrup, cherry juice, orange bitters and regular bitters. Shake very well to combine. Pour into the prepared glass and top with a splash of soda. Garnish with cherries and orange slices.
- Bring the sugar and 1 cup water to a simmer in a small saucepan; cook until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

- Muddle 8 thawed frozen cherries, 8 dashes each angostura and orange bitters, the juice of 1 orange and 3 tablespoons sugar in a liquid measuring cup. Add 1 cup brandy. Divide among 4 ice-filled glasses; stir and garnish with orange twists.
