Six Healthy Salmon Marinade Recipes image

Made with fresh healthy ingredients, these six marinade recipes will give your salmon amazing taste without overpowering the fish.

Provided by Andi

Categories     Main Course

Number Of Ingredients 35

1 Tbsp olive oil
¼ cup lemon juice (approx. one freshly squeezed lemon)
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tsp lemon zest
salt and pepper (to taste)
1 Tbsp olive oil
¼ cup soy sauce (or tamari sauce)
1 Tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
1 Tbsp lemon juice
½ Tbsp hot sauce
salt and pepper (to taste)
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp dijon mustard
2 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp whole grain mustard
½ tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper (to taste)
1 Tbsp olive oil
¼ cup lime juice (approx. 3 freshly squeezed limes)
½ Tbsp lime zest
½ tsp chili powder
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp paprika
salt and pepper (to taste)
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tsp Italian seasoning
salt and pepper (to taste)
1 Tbsp olive oil
¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 Tbsp orange zest
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 ½ tsp ground ginger
salt and pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • Add all marinade ingredients to a small bowl and mix together.
  • Add salmon to a glass container or plastic bag and pour marinade sauce overtop. Container should be small enough so that salmon can soak up the sauce. Seal the bag/container and let sit in fridge for 1-2 hours before cooking. Salmon can also marinade overnight in the fridge.
  • Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place salmon fillet skin side down on the baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until salmon is easily flaked with a fork. (If you have small salmon fillets, just cook for less time).
  • Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat with cooking oil. Once the pan is hot, add the salmon so skin side is facing up. Cook for 2-3 minutes then flip over so skin side is down. Pour the leftover marinade sauce over top of the salmon and cook for another 3-5 minutes. I like to watch the clock during this time because I'm not a fan of overcooked salmon.
  • At this point, depending on how thick the salmon is, the sides of the salmon should have just turned white and it should be cooked. To check you can use a fork to see if the salmon flakes easily. If it does, and the insides aren't translucent, then it's cooked. Remove from heat.
  • Heat barbecue to medium heat, place salmon on the grill, skin side up. Cover and let cook for about 5 minutes, then flip. Pour extra marinade over top and cook an additional 5 minutes. Salmon will be done when easily flaked with a fork.
  • Lightly coat the inside of the air fryer tray or basket with olive oil or cooking spray. Add the salmon fillets skin side up to the tray. Cook at 400°F for 10 minutes, then flip them over and pour leftover marinade on top. Cook an additional 10 minutes, or until fully cooked.

THE BEST SALMON MARINADE

The Best Salmon Marinade image

Fabulous Family favorite!!! Super easy and lots of flavor! Made many times and never had negative results. If there are any leftovers this salmon makes a wonderful salad topper for lunch or a salmon salad sandwich. When cooking on the cedar plank or adding liquid smoke, it takes the salmon to a whole new level of flavor. Awesome... best of all this is pretty much idiot proof! Try serving with recipe#318889 or recipe#297906 for a great tasty feast.

MASTERS MARINATED SALMON

Masters Marinated Salmon image

Provided by Robert Irvine : Food Network

Categories     main-dish

Time 2h35m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 mango, peeled and sliced away from the seed
3 to 4 stalks fresh lemongrass, tough outer leaves removed and main yellowish stalk bruised with the side of a knife and cut into manageable lengths (about 2 inches)
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, stems removed
3 scallions, white and tender green parts only
1 shallot, peeled and quartered
1-inch piece fresh ginger root, skin scraped off with the tip of a spoon, and quartered
1 tablespoon green curry paste
1/4 cup Irvine Spices "Roland" Sriracha Chili Sauce or sambal oelek (chili sauce)
1/2 cup dry Chardonnay
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup coconut milk
2 tablespoons olive oil
6 (8-ounce) portions of salmon

Steps:

  • For the marinade: Add 1 at a time through the feed opening of a running blender, the mango, tender parts of lemongrass, cilantro, scallions, shallot, and ginger root until they begin to form a paste. Leave the blender running and through the feed opening add the curry paste and sriracha chili sauce and blend together for a few seconds, then continue by adding the liquids 1 at a time: Chardonnay, soy sauce, orange juice, and coconut milk. Reserve half of this mixture in a small bowl to make into a sauce.
  • Arrange the salmon in a shallow bowl and pour the other half of the mixture over the fish. Cover and let marinate refrigerated for at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Transfer the reserved sauce mixture to a small saucepan and cook over medium-high heat until it begins to bubble and thicken.
  • Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet and sear each side of the salmon (skin side down first) without disturbing for the first 3 to 4 minutes of sear time on each side. (This allows the surface to caramelize, so the fish won't tear apart when you flip it.) Transfer the pan to the oven to finish the fish - a further 5 to 7 minutes, depending upon the thickness of the fillets. Do not overcook the fish. It is done when it springs back upon being lightly prodded. Use an oven mitt to remove the pan from the oven (that handle will be hot). Transfer salmon to a platter and let rest.
  • Strain the sauce and spoon over the salmon fillets.

SPICY SALMON MARINADE

Spicy Salmon Marinade image

This white wine, rosemary, and garlic marinade is given a kick with crushed red pepper and hot sauce. As written, the heat level is mild, but adjust to your tastes by adding more hot sauce or a spicier hot sauce. I like to use a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, and serve the rest of the bottle chilled with dinner. This salmon tastes best when cooked on an outdoor grill.

Provided by France C

Time 2h5m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 (1 1/2-pound) skin-on center-cut salmon fillet
6 fluid ounces dry white wine
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon hot sauce
½ teaspoon dried rosemary
½ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Cut fish into 4 portions.
  • Whisk together wine, olive oil, garlic, pepper flakes, and hot sauce in a small bowl. Pour over salmon and seal bag closed, letting out excess air. Place in refrigerator for 1 hour, turning after 30 minutes. Remove salmon from the marinade, letting excess drip off, and place on a plate to stand at room temperature for 15 minutes. Discard any remaining marinade.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Place salmon flesh-side down on the hot grill. Close the lid and grill for 3 minutes. Flip and grill an additional 3 to 4 more minutes. Sprinkle with salt before serving, if desired.

GRAVLAX (MARINATED SALMON)

Gravlax (marinated salmon) image

This is the traditional Swedish gravlax recipe. Nowadays lots of varieties have evolved, but this is the original. It is traditionally served with the mustard sauce ('Gravlaxsas') and lemon. I recommend a German or Californian dry or semi-dry white wine to this. Because of the simplicity of the recipe, the salmon has to be of the best quality and freshness available.

Provided by Andreacute Grisell

Categories     Swedish

Time P3DT20m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 lbs norwegian salmon fillets (of optimum quality)
1/4 cup salt (preferably sea salt)

3 tablespoons Swedish mustard or 3 tablespoons german sweet mustard
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon vinegar
salt, pepper
6 tablespoons mild vegetable oil (not olive oil!)
additional fresh dill, finely chopped

Steps:

  • For the salmon, remove all bones with a pair of tweezers, but leave the skin on.
  • Rinse.
  • Mash the dill stems in a mortar with a little of the salt.
  • Mix with the rest of the salt, the sugar and pepper.
  • Save the dill leaves for the sauce.
  • Cover the flesh side of the fillets with the mixture, and place the fillets flesh-to-flesh in a tray made of glass or stainless steel.
  • Cover with plastic foil and put a heavy weight on top (e. g. the mortar or a brick).
  • Keep refrigerated for 72 hours, turning the fillets every 12 hours.
