Everyone cleaned their plates when my mother made these succulent, tangy-sweet pork chops when I was growing up. Now I get the same results when I serve them to my family alongside applesauce and au gratin potatoes. -Cheryl Miller, Fort Collins, Colorado

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper to taste
4 bone-in pork loin chops (7 ounces each)
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 tablespoons water
2/3 cup packed brown sugar

Steps:

  • In a large shallow dish, combine the flour, salt and pepper. Add pork chops and turn to coat. In a large ovenproof skillet, cook chops in butter over medium heat until a thermometer reads 145°, 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove and keep warm. , Meanwhile, in the same skillet, bring the vinegar to a boil. Reduce heat; add maple syrup. Cover and cook for 10 minutes. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; gradually add to maple mixture. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. , Place chops on a broiler pan; sprinkle with brown sugar. Broil 4 in. from the heat until sugar is melted, 1-2 minutes. Drizzle with maple glaze.

A tasty way to fix pork chops that can be grilled or prepared in the oven. The sauce is also good on ham. From Pillsbury Grilling & Picnics. Be sure to use a good maple syrup from the US's Northeast region.

4 pork chops, 3/4-inch thick
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
3/4 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Grill directions:.
  • Heat grill. Rub both sides of pork chops with salt and pepper. In small saucepan, combine all glaze ingredients; mix well. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Set aside.
  • When ready to grill, place pork chops on medium heat 4 to 6-inches from medium coals. Cook 15 minutes, turning once.
  • Brush pork chops with glaze. Cook an additional 10 minutes or until no longer pink, turning once and brushing frequently with glaze. Bring any remaining glaze to a boil; serve with pork chops.
  • Oven Directions:.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Rub both sides of pork chops with salt and pepper. In small saucepan, combine all glaze ingredients; mix well. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Set aside.
  • Brush pork chops with glaze. Bake pork chops for 30 minutes, basting with glaze every 8-10 minutes.
  • Bring any remaining glaze to a boil; serve with pork chops.

4 thick-cut boneless pork loin chops, rinsed and patted dry

1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup Jack Daniels Whiskey
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Steps:

  • Place onions in bottom of 4-5 qt slow cooker.
  • Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, whiskey and dijon mustard.
  • Dip each pork chop into the syrup mixture and place in slow cooker on top of the onions.
  • Pour remaining syrup mixture over the pork chops.

4 boneless center-cut pork loin chops
kosher salt & freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup low sodium chicken broth, canned

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Dry the pork chops well and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Add the oil to the pan and heat
  • Add chops and brown each side.
  • Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
  • Pour off the excess oil from the pan.
  • Add the vinegar, and return the pan to the heat and use a wooden spoon to scrape up any brown bits that cling to the pan.
  • Stir in the mustard, maple syrup, and chicken broth, along with any juices from the pork chops.
  • Cook over high heat until the mixture is syrupy, about 5 minutes.
  • Spoon over pork chops or serve on the side.

1/4 cup prepared horseradish, drained
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon dried ancho chile powder

Steps:

  • Combine maple syrup, horseradish, mustard and chile powder.
  • Pour over pork chops in bowl, or resealable bag to marinate for 1 hour.
  • May be refrigerated, covered, for 1 day; use at room temperature.
  • Preheat a gas or charcoal grill to medium high.
  • Reserve 3/4 cups of glaze.
  • Brush the chops on both sides with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

2 teaspoons Dijon style mustard
1 teaspoon steak sauce
FOR THE SALAD:
2 cups freshly cooked frozen corn (from 10 ounce frozen package)
2 cups freshly cooked lima beans (from 10 ounce frozen package)
1/4 cup finely diced celery
1/4 cup finely chopped white onion
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons Dijon style mustard
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
4 boneless pork loin chops, about 1 1/4 inches thick each, trimmed
vegetable oil

Steps:

  • TO MAKE THE GLAZE: In a small bowl whisk together the glaze ingredients.TO MAKE THE SALAD: In a large bowl combine the corn, lima beans, celery, onion, and dill. This recipe is from the "12th Edition of the Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook". The smoky and salty flavor of the pork chops is complimented by the sweet and savory maple glaze. DH and our toddler DD happily gobbled it down. Yum!

2 smoked pork chops, bone-in, 1/2 inch thick
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/8 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
1/4 cup maple syrup (real or imitation)
1/4 cup apple juice
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon sage, dried, ground
1/8 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

Steps:

  • In a medium skillet (cast iron preferred), heat oil over medium-high heat until glistening.
  • Season both sides of pork chops with 1/8 teaspoons black pepper. Brown in hot oil for 5-8 minutes on each side or until heated through (and nicely browned).
  • Meanwhile in a small saucepan, whisk together remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.
  • Once pork chops are browned, remove to a serving platter (or individual plates). Spoon maple glaze evenly over both and serve.
