1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cups old fashioned oats
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 small banana, peeled and cut into small chunks

Steps:

  • Bring 2 1/4 cups chocolate ilk and the salt to a gentle boil in a medium saucepan.
  • Stir in dried oats and cinnamon. Reduce heat.
  • Gently boil, uncovered, over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat; let stand for 2 to 3 minutes to slightly absorb excess milk in mixture.
  • To serve, stir vanilla into oatmeal, then gently stir in banana.
  • Spoon oatmeal into bowls and pour 2 T chocolate milk over each serving.

2 cups plain almond milk
2 fully-ripened large bananas (1 1/2 diced and 1/2 thinly sliced crosswise)
1/4 teaspoon pure almond extract
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Kosher salt
2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons honey or agave nectar
1/3 cup toasted and chopped walnuts
Pinch ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Bring the almond milk, 1 3/4 cups water, the diced bananas, almond and vanilla extracts and pinch of salt to a boil in a large saucepan over high heat.
  • Stir in the oats, cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon of the honey and reduce the heat to medium. Cook, stirring frequently, until the oats are fully cooked to desired consistency, 6 to 7 minutes.
  • Transfer to 4 bowls, top with the sliced bananas, walnuts, the remaining 1 tablespoon honey, cinnamon and chocolate chips and serve.

1 (43 g) packet quick-cooking oatmeal
1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
2 (1 g) packets artificial sweetener (you can use real sugar if you prefer of course)
1/2 banana, sliced
2 chocolate-covered wafers or 2 crackers, crushed up

Steps:

  • Add oatmeal, cocoa, and sweetener to a microwave safe bowl.
  • Add amount of water as directed on package for microwave cooking.
  • Cook in microwave. Half way through take out and gently stir in banana slices.
  • Finish cooking time, sprinkle with chocolate covered wafers and let stand for about a minute so the chocolate can get gooey.
  • Enjoy!
