Good as a salad dressing or dip, wonderful with boiled shrimp as an alternative to ketchup-based dip, and fantastic with Onion Mums. Recipe from Hellmann's Mayonnaise.

1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup chili sauce
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1/2 teaspoon onion, grated
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

Stir ingredients together.
Cover and chill.

This is pretty much a Seafood Louie minus the lettuce and seafood! My best friend's mom used to make this dressing in the galley of their boat while the crab pots were being pulled up! It's the best Louie (thousand island) dressing I've ever had. I like having it around when I have the craves for a Louie but not the time, because pretty much everything's in there but the lettuce and the shrimp or crab!

Ingredients

1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons whipping cream
2 tablespoons chili sauce (such as Heinz)
2 tablespoons green bell peppers, chopped
2 tablespoons scallions, chopped
2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
2 tablespoons black olives, chopped
2 tablespoons pickles, chopped (I use bread and butter pickles) (optional)
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

Mix mayo, whipping cream, and chili sauce together.
Add all remaining ingredients.
Refrigerate.

Ingredients

1 cup Mayonnaise
1/4 cup Chili sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup Green onion or minced onion
Dash Cayenne
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
Dash minced garlic
Tarragon

Steps:

Mix together well and adjust seasonings to taste. I like to add a little extra chili sauce and not quite as much green onion. Serve chilled.

Ingredients

2 lbs stewing beef (cubed)
5 medium potatoes (cut into large cubes)
6 carrots, cleaned and sliced round
2 stalks celery (sliced)
1 onion, cut into thin slices
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
3 tablespoons minute tapioca
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 quart tomato juice

Steps:

Using a large Dutch oven, put in the beef first--this is the first layer.
The 2nd layer is carrots.
The 3rd layer is celery.
The 4th layer is onions.
Then combine all of the dry ingredients.
Combine dry ingredients with tomato juice.
Pour this mixture over the meat and veggies.
Cover with lid or foil.
Bake 5 hours at 200 degrees.
The secret is the slow baking and not peeking.
