3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 (16 ounce) package fresh linguine pasta
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
2 teaspoons minced garlic
3 tablespoons butter, cut up
¼ cup grated Asiago cheese, or to taste

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water and 1 tablespoon oil to a boil. Cook linguine in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, 7 to 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat remaining olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and saute until shrimp turns pink, 3 to 4 minutes. Add basil and garlic; cook for 2 to 3 minutes more.
  • Add butter and cooked linguine. Toss until butter melts, making sure to coat the linguine with the sauce. Remove from heat. Serve immediately.

This is a very tasty seafood pasta, and less than 1/2 hour to make. Most of time is spent on cleaning & deveining the shrimp.

3 tablespoons olive oil
1 lb shrimp, large, peeled and deveined
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
3 tablespoons basil, fresh, chopped
3 tablespoons butter
1 lb linguine (preferably fresh)
grated asiago cheese (as desired)

Steps:

  • Boil water for the linguine, adding 1 tbsp of the olive oil and a pinch of salt to the water. Cook the linguine for 7-8 minutes (al dente), stirring every minute. While the pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet with remaining olive oil.
  • When th e oil is hot, add the shrimp to the skillet, sauteeing until the shrimp turns pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the garlic and the basil and cook an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the butter, and toss in the pasta, making sure to coat the pasta with the sauce. Remove from heat.
  • Serve immediately and garnish with the Asiago cheese as desired!

2-3 fat garlic clove, finely chopped
50g butter
175g pack raw shelled king prawns, de-veined and split in half lengthways
finely grated zest 1 lemon, then cut the lemon into wedges
small pack parsley, chopped

Steps:

  • Boil the pasta following pack instructions. Meanwhile, very gently cook the garlic in the butter in a medium pan until softened. Add the prawns and cook until they just turn from grey to pink. It is important not to overcook them or they will be tough. Remove from the heat and stir in the zest and seasoning.
  • Drain the pasta and toss into the pan with the prawn mixture and parsley until well mixed. Divide between two bowls and serve with the lemon wedges.

I got this recipe off of another site but modified it quite a bit to suit our tastes. It is very easy and will certainly impress company or make a nice dish for a romantic meal! The key is to use fresh herb in this dish. Serve with a good crusty bread, green salad and a nice white wine.

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 -4 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped

1/4 cup of a good white wine (Do not use cooking wine!)
1/2 lb linguine, cooked al dente
chopped fresh parsley (to garnish)

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a skillet.
  • Add the shrimp and cook until just pink.
  • Add the garlic, basil and butter.
  • Saute just until butter is slightly melted.
