Cherry tomato quarters form the wings of these adorable little ladybugs dreamed up by our Test Kitchen. The delightful creatures are perched on crunchy crackers spread with a seasoned cream cheese mixture.

6 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
Black paste food coloring
3 teaspoons minced chives
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
36 butter-flavored crackers
18 cherry tomatoes, quartered
18 large pitted ripe olives
72 fresh chive pieces (about 1-1/2 inches long)

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Remove 2 tablespoons to a small bowl and tint black. Place tinted cream cheese mixture in a small plastic bag; set aside. , Add the chives, garlic salt and parsley to the remaining cream cheese mixture. Spread over crackers. Arrange two tomato quarters on each for the ladybug wings. , For heads, halve the olives widthwise; place one half on each cracker. Insert two chives into olives for antennae. Use tinted cream cheese mixture to pipe spots onto wings.

72 fresh chive pieces (about 1-1/2 inches long)

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Remove 1 tablespoon to a small dish and tint black. Place the black cream cheese mixture in a small plastic bag; set aside. Add the chives, garlic salt and parsley to the remaining cream cheese mixture. Spread over crackers. Arrange two tomato quarters on each for the ladybug wings. For heads, halve the olives widthwise; place one half on each cracker. Insert two chives into olives for antennae. Spin a tiny corner off the plastic bag with the black cream cheese mixture and pipe spots onto the wings.

1 box Betty Crocker™ Fruit Roll-Ups™ Blastin' Berry Hot Colors™ fruit flavored snacks
4 vanilla wafer cookies
1 box Betty Crocker™ Fruit Gushers™ fruit flavored snacks (any variety)
Round candy sprinkles
1/2 cup Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy vanilla frosting
1 tube (0.68 oz) Betty Crocker™ black decorating gel

Steps:

  • Unroll and remove paper from desired color Fruit Roll-Ups fruit flavored snacks. Using 2 1/2-inch round cutter, cut 4 circles from snacks. (A bottle cap this size can also be used to cut around with knife or kitchen scissors.) Wrap cut circles around wafer cookies.
  • To make legs, cut rectangle from blue portion of fruit flavored snack 3 inches long and 1/2 inch wide; roll up tightly. Cut into six 1/2-inch pieces. To attach legs, cut a 1 1/2-inch circle from fruit flavored snack. Place leg pieces on circle, attaching with small amount of frosting. Attach to bottom of covered wafer cookie, using small amount of frosting.
  • Attach Fruit Gushers fruit flavored snack to top of covered wafer cookie using small amount of frosting for head. Place candy sprinkles on lady bug. Place frosting in small resealable sandwich-size bag; cut off very small corner. Pipe eyes on ladybug; add dot of black gel for pupil of eye. Repeat to make 3 additional ladybugs.

2 red apples
¼ cup raisins
1 tablespoon peanut butter
8 thin pretzel sticks

Steps:

  • Slice apples in half from top to bottom and scoop out the cores using a knife or melon baller. If you have an apple corer, core them first, then slice. Place each apple half flat side down on a small plate.
  • Dab peanut butter on to the back of the 'lady bug', then stick raisins onto the dabs for spots. Use this method to make eyes too. Stick one end of each pretzel stick into a raisin, then press the other end into the apples to make antennae.
