300 g boneless skinless chicken breasts
150 g potatoes, peeled
1 taplespoon poppy seed (powder)
2 tablespoons besan (roasted)
1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
6 whole green chilies, finely chopped
1 teaspoon red chili powder
salt, to taste
oil (for frying)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon fresh ginger paste
1/2 teaspoon turmeric (haldi)
2 tomatoes, crushed
2 tablespoons coriander leaves, fresh
1 teaspoon red chili
1 teaspoon garam masala
salt, to taste
2 tablespoons oil

Steps:

  • For the koftas, mince the meat with all the other ingredients.
  • Remove the mixture and shape into balls. Deep fry these balls till golden brown and keep aside.
  • peel the potatoes and cut one potato in four pieces.
  • For curry: Fry onions, garlic and ginger till golden brown.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients except coriander and garam masala with enough water to make a gravy.
  • Bring to a boil, add the fried koftas and simmer for 20 minutes now add potatoes and simmer more 20 min or untill potatoes tender. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and sprinlle garam masala before serving.

  • Heat the oil in a pan and add the onions. Cook over a medium heat for 5 minutes until starting to soften.
  • Add in the garlic and cook for a further minute, then spoon half of the onion mixture out of the pan into a bowl.
  • Add the cumin, turmeric and mustard seeds to the remaining onions in the pan and give the mixture a stir for a minute.
  • Add in the potatoes and stock. Stir, bring to the boil. then cover and turn down the heat. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender.

  • Firstly, wash potatoes under running water and put them in a pressure cooker. Pour water into it and boil them. On the other hand, grate mozzarella cheese using a grater. Also, crush fenugreek leaves and cut onions into the quarters. Once the potatoes are boiled, mash them using a masher and chop coriander leaves finely.
  • Next, place a frying pan over medium flame and pour water in it. Now, add tomatoes, onions and almonds and boil them for 8-10 minutes. Now, chop tomatoes and onions and put them in a blender. Also, put almonds in the blender and blend well. Make sure the consistency of the paste is thick.
  • Now, take a bowl and add mashed potatoes, cheese, cornstarch and black pepper into the bowl and mix them well. Shape the mixture into patties and keep them aside.
  • Next, place a frying pan and pour oil in it. Once the oil is heated, add potato patties into it and shallow fry them until golden brown in colour. Transfer the patties onto a plate.
