Kentucky Chess Bars Food
KENTUCKY CHESS BARS
This recipe will make you slap the dog and spit on the fire. When I make these, they don't last an hour in my house. Family and friends eat them right up and don't even leave a crumb. I am always having people request these naughty, sweet, just too good not to share bars. ENJOY!!!

Steps:
- 1. 1 Yellow Cake Mix 1 Egg 1 Stick of Butter
- 2. Mix 1 egg into cake mix. Melt butter, add to egg / cake mixture. Stir until becomes a ball. Pat into greased 12x15 flat pan.
- 3. Take 8 oz. Cream Cheese and beat with mixer until smooth. Add 2 eggs and 1 box of confectioner sugar. Mix until smooth.
- 4. Pour on top of cake mixture and bake 30-35 minutes or until light golden brown in color. Bake at 350 degrees.
- 5. Cool completely before cutting.

Chess Squares with a peanut butter taste! Yum. I made these for my office and everyone went wild over them. I fount this recipe in "Southern Lady Magazine."

Steps:
- Set your oven to 350.
- Grease a 13 x 9 pan.
- With mixer, mix yellow cake mix, melted butter and 1 egg. Press into pan.
- Next, beat cream cheese until creamy (takes a few seconds), add confectioners' sugar and two eggs and mix until well blended. Fold in peanut butter chips and ½ cup heath bar bits. Pour all this over yellow cake mixture. Sprinkle the rest of the heath bar bits on top and bake for 45 minutes. You can garnish with confectioners' sugar.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan. Mix together the cake mix, melted butter and the egg. Stir in the chopped pecans. Press mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese with the confectioners' sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time until blended.
- Pour cream cheese mixture over crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Cool in the pan, then cut into squares before serving.

This is a very rich Chess Pie. Most recipes were Regionally altered. This is the one that I remember from childhood. I love this pie. This recipe makes two pies. Use the deep dish pie crust.

Steps:
- Beat eggs slightly.
- Add Sugar, cornmeal, vanilla, butter and vinegar.
- Let set for 10 minutes.
- Stir gently and pour into deep dish pie shells.
- Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes until pies are set.
- To keep pie crust from browning too quickly, Cover the edges of the crust with aluminum foil for the first 30 minutes.
- Enjoy.
