Steps:
- Combine the ingredients for the marinade in a zip lock bag. Marinate for several hours or overnight.
- Prepare barbecue. Drain marinade into a small saucepan and bring to boil. Mix the cornstarch and water and add to the marinade and cook until thickened.
- Grill steak for about 5 minutes on each side for rare. Transfer steak to platter; let stand for 10 minutes.
- Thinly slice across grain and pass marinade as sauce.

- Combine soya sauce, wine, oil and ginger or garlic in a shallow bowl. Score meat with shallow cuts, criss-cross-style at 2-inch intervals and add to marinade, turning to coat meat. Cover and refrigerate for at least four hours but preferably overnight, turning occasionally.
- Remove meat from bowl, reserving marinade. Barbecue over medium-hot coals or at medium-high setting, brushing occasionally with marinade, 4 to 6 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness.
- Remove from barbecue and let stand for 5 minutes, then cut diagonally across the grain, in extra-thin slices. Wrap well and chill.

- In a small bowl, combine the first 7 ingredients. Transfer 3/4 cup marinade to a large bowl; add garlic and sesame oil. Score surface of flank steak, making diamond shapes 1/4 in. deep. Place steak in bowl; turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade for basting., Drain and discard marinade from steak. Lightly oil the grill rack. Grill, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 7-10 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°), basting occasionally with 3 tablespoons of the reserved marinade. , Let stand for 5 minutes; slice across the grain. Heat remaining marinade; serve over beef. Sprinkle with green onion.

FLANK STEAK WITH TERIYAKI MARINADE

- Make ¼ inch slits in one side of the steak with a sharp paring knife; fill slits with garlic and put steak in a shallow dish large enough to hold it.
- Whisk together remaining ingredients until emulsified.
- Pour over steak, turning steak to coat well, let marinate, covered, turning occasionally, for 1 hour at room temperature and up to 10 hours, chilled.
- Let steak come to room temperature and discard garlic.
- Broil 4 inches from heat, turning once, 10-12 minutes for medium-rare meat and reserve pan juices.
- Alternatively, remove steak from marinade and grill over hot coals, brushing occasionally with marinade for the same amount of time as the broiler.
- Transfer to a platter and let stand 10 minutes.
- Slice thin across the grain and serve with reserved pan juices.

- Combine all ingredients and trim any fat from the flank steak.
- Score the flank steak and put into a gallon size freezer bag,add the marinade and put in refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
- (longer is better) Also, you may double or triple the marinade recipe and do several flank steaks and store in the freezer,just be sure to get as much air out of the bags before putting in the freezer.
- Cook the flank steak approx. 5-6 minutes on each side for medium rare.
TERIYAKI FLANK STEAK
This is Teriyaki Flank Steak with a Sweet Pepper garnish. It can be served with "Watermelon Cheese Salad" (another one of my recipes.) I like to marinade the meat overnight. I hope you enjoy it.

Steps:
- In large zip-tight bag, add garlic, soy sauce, honey, and ginger. Seal bag and mix ingredients.
- Add steak to bag, seal tightly while pressing out excess air.
- Mix around meat in bag to coat steak. Place in Refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
- Preheat broiler or outdoor grill for direct grilling over medium heat.
- While grill or broiler is preheating, heat oil in a skillet to medium heat and cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Place steak on hot grill rack or broiler pan; cook 10-15 minutes, depending on the doneness you prefer.
- Transfer cooked steak to cutting board and let set for 5 minutes to settle juices.
- Thinly slice steak diagonally across the grain and transfer to large platter; top steak with warm peppers to serve.
- NOTE: Some serving suggestions include fried rice, fortune cookies, or watermelon cheese salad (another one of my recipes.).
