Jun 24, 2011 It's hard to say what is the best choice for someone else, but my gut feeling is that most folks will want a "new" mower long before you would wear out the X724 if you took good care of it so it is a bit questionable in my mind if the difference in price is worth it for you. May 28, 2015 I purchased a 2010 JD X534 w/ 54" deck new and it ran perfect the first 2 summers. I mow approx. 8 ac. and have a 6ft finish mower on the back of my Ford 1715. The 3rd summer it started having surges in power and stalling out. I had it in and out of the dealer's shop 3 times and they couldn't figure out what the problem was. From lawnmowerforum.com

Jun 9, 2020 I have a JD X534 and it would stall after being used for about 20 minutes. It took me awhile to find a resolution, so I thought it would be good to post this.
