3 lb canned ham
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
1 cup maraschino cherries
1 can(20 oz) pineapple chunks
2 tablespoons pancake syrup
Handful of cloves
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch of salt

Pineapple Ham (Jamon con Pina) Recipe - (4.1/5) image

1 canned ham, about 2 pounds
1 bay leaf
1 can (16 ounce) pineapple slices
1 cup red cooking wine
5 oranges, juiced
1/2 can beer
Marachino cherries
2 cups pineapple juice
Whole cloves
1 pound dark sugar
1 cup dark sugar

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Meanwhile, If canned ham has gelatin, scrape it off with the back of a knife. Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the ham, add the orange juice, bay leaf and put to boil on high heat. Once water boils, add the ham and continue to boil for 10 minutes. Turn off stove, remove ham and put in glass or metal baking pan. Throw out the water. In a bowl, mix together the beer, wine, pineapple juice, 1 pound dark sugar and pour over the ham. With a sharp knife, make 1 inch diagonal lines to make diamond shapes all around ham. Put a cloves in between each diamond. Put ham in preheated oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Remove ham and decorate with pineapple slices and cherries. (attach with wooden toothpicks.) Sprinkle ham all around with remaining brown sugar and put back in oven for another 10 or 15 minutes, until brown sugar melts and looks shiny and glazed.

Steps:

2 tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
2 teaspoons vinegar
1 ham (sliced into one-inch slices)
1/2 cup water
pineapple slice

Steps:

  • Mix Fancy Molasses, mustard and vinegar, Spread this mixture over the ham in a baking dish. Gentlypour water around ham and bake at 325F until tender (about 45 minutes). place pineapple on ham and return to oven until lightly browned.

I haven't eaten ham in many years. I've been trying out seitan recipes and this looks so good. Here's what the blog says. "The texture is perfection. It's just the right amount of chewy without being tough. It's tender without being too soft and so moist. And most importantly it's bursting with ham-like flavor." 1 cup vital wheat gluten
1 1/2 tablespoons almond meal flour
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 tablespoon pineapple juice (reserved from the 8 oz. can you use for the topping)
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon liquid smoke
8 ounces crushed pineapple
3 tablespoons light brown sugar
1/2 tablespoon Smart Balance light butter spread
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
2 tablespoons Agave or 2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon course ground prepared mustard
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
paprika, for sprinkling

Steps:

  • Mix all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix the wet in a separate mixing bowl. Pour the wet ingredients in with the dry ingredients and mix together. Kneed with your hands for about a minute. Shape into a loaf and wrap in a cheese cloth and place in a steam bath. I use a large stock pot with a colander on top and then a lid. I put about 3 inches of water in the stock pot. Bring this to a boil and cut down to medium heat and steam for 45 minutes. Keep a check on the water to make sure it doesn't boil dry.
  • While that's steaming mix up the topping by putting all of the ingredients in a food processor and process for a minute.
  • After the seitan loaf has finished steaming, take off cheese cloth and let cool for about 10 minutes. Then slice into 1/4 inch slices and coat top and bottom with pineapple topping, place in a baking pan, sprinkle with paprika and broil for five minutes on each side.

I got this from the Taste of Home website. The original recipe calls for a fully cooked ham but I always use an uncooked ham and cook it myself, you just have to cook it longer but a cooked ham would do just as well. This is the best ham I've ever had...honestly!

1 (6 -8 lb) fully cooked bone in ham (6-8 pounds)
whole cloves
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple slices, drained
1/4 cup pineapple juice
5 maraschino cherries

Steps:

  • Place ham in roasting pan.
  • Score the surface with shallow diagonal cuts, making diamond shapes.
  • Insert cloves into diamonds (use as many as you'd like). I like to use quite a few.
  • Cover and bake at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours. Longer if using an uncooked ham. Go according to package directions.
  • Combine brown sugar and pineapple juice, pour over ham.
  • Arrange pineapple and cherries on ham and secure with toothpicks.
  • Bake, uncovered an additional 30-45 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 140°F.
