Number Of Ingredients 17

2-1/2 pounds pork baby back ribs, cut into 8 pieces
2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
1 medium onion, sliced
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup orange juice
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup molasses
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
1 teaspoon stone-ground mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
Dash salt
5 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon cold water

Steps:

  • Rub ribs with Cajun seasoning. Layer ribs and onion in a 5-qt. slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, orange juice, vinegar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, barbecue sauce, mustard, paprika, garlic powder, liquid smoke if desired, and salt. Pour over ribs. Cover and cook on low until meat is tender, 5-6 hours. , Remove ribs and keep warm. Strain cooking juices and skim fat; transfer to a small saucepan. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into juices. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, 2 minutes. Serve with ribs.

1 1/2 lbs short rib of beef
1/2 cup white rum
1 cup white rice
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 fresh red pepper (diced)
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup white flour
1 large sweet onion (sliced)
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 cup beef broth
salt
pepper

Steps:

  • Pour Olive Oil in skillet over med high heat.
  • Salt & Pepper Short Ribs to taste.
  • Dredge Short Ribs in Flour.
  • Brown all sides of Short Ribs in skillet.
  • Put layer of sliced Sweet Onions on bottom of Crock pot.
  • Remove Ribs from skillet, place on top of onions in Crock pot.
  • Deglaze skillet with 1/2 cup Beef Broth.
  • Pour liquid in Crock pot.
  • Mix the remaining 1/2 cup of Beef Broth, Rum, can Diced Tomatoes, Diced Red Pepper, Ginger, Garlic, Brown Sugar, Thyme, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Red Pepper Flakes, Orange Zest, in a bowl, pour over Short Ribs in Crock pot. Cook 6-8 hours on low setting until meat is falling off bone.
  • Serve over cooked rice.

2 tsp cajun seasoning
1 medium onion, sliced
1 c ketchup
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1/3 c orange juice
1/3 c apple cider vinegar
1/4 c mollasses
2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp barbecue sauce
1 tsp stone groud mustard
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp ggalic powder
1/2 tsp liquid smoke (optional0
dash salt
5 tsp corn starch
1 Tbsp cold water

Steps:

  • 1. rub ribs with cajun seasoning. layer ribs and onion in 5 qt slow cooker. in a bowl, combine the next 12 ingredients . pour over ribs. cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until meat is tender. remove ribs and keep warm. strain cooking juices and skim fat, transfer to a sauce pan. combine cornstarch and water and stir until smooth, stir into juices . bring to a boil and stir for 2 mimutes ,or until thickened. serve with ribs. yeild 4 servings.enjoy
