Steps:
- preheat oven to 350*.mix first 7 ingredients together.
- spread very thin in a greased 13x9" pan --
- sprinkle with chopped nuts.
- beat egg whites till stiff and add brown sugar --
- spread over nuts and bake for 30 minutes.
- cut into squares while hot.

Steps:
- Combine butter, cocoa, sugar, and milk in a large saucepan.
- Bring to a full boil, reduce heat and simmer for one minute stirring constantly.
- Add vanilla and peanut butter mixing well.
- Stir in oats.
- Quickly drop onto waxed paper by the spoonful or desired amount.
- Let cool and enjoy.
- Do not under or over cook ingredients in saucepan. Once oats are stirred in drop onto wax paper immediately. I do not suggest in double batching this particular recipe.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Beat shortening and sugar together.
- Add eggs and melted chocolate; beat well.
- Stir in flour and baking powder; dough will be sticky.
- Refrigerate dough until well-chilled.
- Form dough into small balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar before placing on a baking sheet.
- Bake 11 minutes at 350 degrees; they should be soft and moist.
HUM MUDS (GINGER COOKIES FROM GIRARD COLLEGE)
This recipe was LOST IN TIME of how these Hum Muds were made at GIRARD COLLEGE in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Girard College was a completely self-sufficient live-in school for boys that was built according to the Will of Stephen Girard. My father, whose name then was Michael Levy, entered the school in 1915 at the age of four. The school was known for their wonderful ginger cookies that the students called HUM MUDS, which meant MUD PIES FROM THE HOME. Through the years there have been many attempts to make these cookies, but only this is the correct recipe.

Steps:
- Cream the sugar, lard, salt and spices together and beat them until light.
- Add the molasses and beat 3 minutes.
- Add 3/4 cup cool water and beat for 1 minute.
- Fold in the flour.
- Dissolve baking soda in 1/4 cup cool water and add to the other ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Grease and lightly flour a baking sheet.
- Wet hands with cold water and make patties of batter, then placing them onto the baking sheet and pat them down.
- Dip a knife into cold water and use the knife to score the gingers.
- Bake for 20 minutes.

An addictive treat! This "recipe" is perfect for sleepovers, when the girls (of all ages) are craving junk food. It might sound weird, yes, but once you've had it, you'll never forget your love for Cookie Mud.

- Get together a bunch of people who won't mind hearing each other moan in orgasmic-like pleasure.
- Put your batch of cookie dough in a largish Pyrex measuring container (4 or 8 cup unit with handle) or other microwave safe dish and nuke in the microwave - if you have a really high powedred microwave do it for about 2 minutes then check it, if you have a lower powered machine do it for for 3 minutes and then check it; it's done when the texture is rather foamy - kind of half-cooked but not cake-y; increase the time by 30 seconds to a minute if it's not quite done, yet, remembering that it's not supposed to be completely cooked.
- The first time you make Cookie Mud you might have to do a little experimentation to get the amount of time and done-ness to your liking, but it's worth the effort!
- When it's ready, hand spoons to your friends, put the container on a hot pad within reach of them all, and back away quickly... if they've never had it before, they might be a briefly dubious - but if they've had it before, you might lose a finger if you don't get away from it fast enough.

INDIANA MUD COOKIES

- On a piece of waxed paper, roll graham crackers (a few at a time) into crumbs with a rolling pin. Put crumbs in a bowl. Add condensed milk and chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for about 12 minutes. When they are done, let cool before you remove them from pan. Serve with ice cold milk and lots of paper napkins!
