POTATO HOT DOG SOUP
Don't let the ingredients sway you from at least trying this recipe once!!!! The only really expensive ingredient is the whipping cream. And if you have kids, you're more than likely to have the rest of them. When I first met my husband, his mother gave me this recipe and I made the same face you'll probably make. But it is sooooooo delicious! You can use any kind of potatoes you like but to save time I sometimes use red russet so I can skip the peeling step. All measurements are approximate. This recipe is versatile, use as much or as little as you'd like.

Steps:
- Peel and cube potatoes, put in pot, add enough water to just completely cover potatoes.
- Sprinkle dill weed over potatoes and boil until potatoes are done but not overdone.
- While potatoes are boiling, hard boil 6 eggs. Peel then chop.
- When potatoes are done, DO NOT DRAIN THEM! Add whipping cream to pot ( more or less to your taste).
- Add chopped eggs to pot.
- Slice all hot dogs into pot.
- Turn on low heat and stir just until soup is warmed, careful not to scorch or overheat.
- Add about a tablespoon of vinegar to pot and stir.
- When ready to eat, I have a water bottle with vinegar in it for this meal so individuals can add more directly to their bowl.
- You can adjust all measurements to make as little or as much as you'd like.
HOT DOG SOUP
A different twist on the hotdog soup. This is a fast, fun and very kid friendly meal. I have my daughter help me make this and she feels proud that she 'cooked' a meal with me. And then she gets to sprinkle the parmesan cheese in the bowls. The cream cheese makes the soup creamy and smooth and gives it a 'comfort food' feeling (I use a non-dairy 'cream cheese'). And for us, this is salty enough, so I don't add salt. I like to serve this with warm biscuits. Perfect for on a cold winter evening. Enjoy! :-)

HOT DOG BEAN SOUP
I found this recipe in the 2009 editon of Taste of Home Quick Cooking Annual Recipes. It was sent in to them by Mary Ann Kime of Sturgis, Michigan. After she mixed everything together she warmed the soup in the microwave. Since I didn't want to dirty up alot of dishes, I just decided to heat everything on the stove top. If you want to follow the exact recipe, and have that particular cookbook the recipe is on page 101.Serve with crackers or even a grilled cheese. Submitted to " ZAAR " on February 4th, 2010.

VERY SIMPLE HOT DOG SOUP
Very easy, throw it together at the last minute, type of recipe. If you don't like hot dogs, you can use frozen meatballs. My family all really enjoy it and there are never any left-overs. I don't recall where the recipe came from, I've been making it for over 25 years.

HOT DOGS: 7 REASONS WHY HOT DOGS AREN'T GOOD FOR YOU
From foodrevolution.org
Estimated Reading Time 8 mins
- They can increase your risk for certain cancers. The World Health Organization (WHO) has categorized processed meats, like hot dogs, as Group 1 carcinogens.
- They aren’t good for your heart health. Hot dogs are high in saturated fat and sodium. Just one hot dog can contain over a quarter of your day’s sodium allowance and over 14 grams of fat.
- They can increase your risk for type 2 diabetes. Every hot dog you eat increases your risk of type 2 diabetes. People who eat the most processed meats have approximately a 20 to 30% higher risk of diabetes for every two-ounce serving of processed meats per day.
- They are at high risk for food recall. Hot dogs have been recalled for many reasons. Some hot dog recalls have been due to contamination of Listeria, metal shards, and bone fragments.
- They contain questionable ingredients. People find very strange, gross, and even dangerous things inside their hot dogs on a pretty regular basis. And these incidents don’t always trigger national food recalls, or even make much of a news splash.
- They may cause allergic reactions. Hot dogs may contain ingredients that cause some people to have an allergic reaction. This, too, isn’t really surprising given that hot dogs contain a laundry list of ingredients.
- They’re usually served with other unhealthy foods. Most of us probably aren’t eating hot dogs on a heaping plate of raw kale with a side of mixed berries.

- Potato Salad. Potato salad is another hearty and creamy side that is sure to satiate your hunger. Its richness pairs wonderfully with savory hot dogs. Plus, the combination of a hot entree and a cold side is always delightful!
