Hot and Hearty Baked Beef Sandwich Loaf image

You used to have to go to the deli to get a roast beef sandwich like this. Now you can make it at home with a can of refrigerated pizza crust!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 can (10 oz.) refrigerated pizza crust
1 pkg. (7 oz.) OSCAR MAYER Deli Fresh Slow Roasted Roast Beef
1/2 of a medium onion, thinly sliced
1/2 of a medium green pepper, thinly sliced
1 cup ORE-IDA Shredded Hash Brown Potatoes
6 KRAFT Big Slice Mild Cheddar Cheese Slices

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray 15x10x1-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Place pizza dough in pan; pat out with fingers to completely cover bottom of pan.
  • Arrange meat slices, in lengthwise row, down center of dough; top with onions, peppers, potatoes and cheese. Fold over long sides of dough to cover filling, slightly overlapping edges of dough in center. Pinch ends of dough together to seal.
  • Bake 15 to 20 min. or until golden brown. Remove from baking pan; let stand 5 min. before cutting into 6 slices to serve.

This is easy and delicious and a great way to use up leftover roast beef, this can also be made using thinly sliced cooked steak --- I make this using my own garlic bread recipe#105726 ---feel free to add on other ingredients that you like, all amounts may be adjusted to taste, this is very good!

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 loaf unsliced purchased garlic bread (do not discard the foil wrapper)
1 cup roasted red pepper, drained on paper towels
1/2-3/4 lb deli roast beef
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or use an Italian 6-cheese blend)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Remove the garlic bread from the foil wrapper and open the loaf.
  • Fill the bottom bread with peppers then reoast beef then shredded cheese.
  • Replace the top of loaf.
  • Carefully slide the loaf back into the foil wrapper.
  • Fold the wrapper closed.
  • Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until hot.
  • Remove the loaf from foil wrapper then slice into 4 pieces or amount desired.
  • Delicious!

1 1/2 lb extra-lean (at least 90%) ground beef
1 envelope dry French onion soup mix (from 2.6-oz package)
1/4 cup water
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 cups shredded Cheddar-Monterey Jack cheese blend (8 oz)
1 loaf (1 lb) French bread, about 24 inches long

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Cut 26x18-inch piece of heavy duty foil. In 12-inch nonstick skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drain. Add soup mix, water, bell pepper and parsley. Cook 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Stir in cheese until melted.
  • Cut 1/2 inch lengthwise slice from top of French bread; set aside. With fork, remove inside of bread, leaving 1/2 inch around edges. Place loaf on foil. If desired, reserve bread pieces for another use. Fill indentation in bread with ground beef mixture. Place top of bread over ground beef. Wrap loaf in foil. Place on cookie sheet.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until thoroughly heated. For sandwiches, cut loaf into 8 crosswise sections.

1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
3 slices process cheese (Velveeta)
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 beef bouillon cubes
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 loaf (1 pound) French bread or Italian bread
Additional process cheese (Velveeta) slices, optional
1 medium green pepper, thinly sliced
1 medium tomato, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • In a skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, cheese, onion, bouillon and garlic powder. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until bouillon is dissolved and cheese is melted. Cut the bread in half widthwise and lengthwise. Carefully hollow out top and bottom of loaf, leaving a 1/2-in. shell (discard removed bread or save for another use). Spoon meat mixture into bottom halves of bread. Top with additional cheese if desired, green pepper and tomato. Replace bread tops. Wrap in heavy-duty foil. Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes or until heated through. Slice and serve warm.

This is a real pleaser. You can use 2 different types of lunch meat for a change of pace. I prefer using Italian bread instead of white.

1 loaf unsliced white bread
3 tablespoons instant minced onion
1 tablespoon poppy seed
cayenne pepper, to taste
12 slices thin luncheon meat
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons mustard
1 tablespoon lemon juice
12 slices swiss cheese

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Carefully trim crust from top of bread.
  • At equal intervals make six diagonal cuts from top of loaf almost through to bottom.
  • Place loaf on lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Mix butter, onion, mustard, poppy seeds, lemon and pepper; reserve 3 tbsp of mixture.
  • Spread butter mixture into cuts.
  • Alternate two cheese slices and two meat slices in each cut allowing each to come slightly over the top and sides of bread.
  • Spread reserved butter mixture over top and sides and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Cover with foil the last 10 minutes of baking.
  • To serve cut through diagonal cuts between meat slices and bread.
