Honey Mustard Ham & Cheese Pizza Rolls image

An easy recipe for ham & cheese pizza rolls with honey mustard sauce...perfect for entertaining or weekend lunch!

1 tsp active dry yeast (I use Edmond's Surebake Yeast)
3/4 cup warm water (160ml)
1 3/4 - 2 cups flour (approx 260g)
1 TBSP olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
200 g ham (any kind will do, I used shaved champagne ham from the supermarket deli)
1/2 cup grated cheese (I used mozzarella)
1 TBSP honey
1 TBSP wholegrain mustard

Steps:

  • Add yeast and water to the bowl of a stand mixer and combine using the dough hook. Allow to sit for 5 minutes for the yeast to activate.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and knead for 7 minutes on the lowest speed. This can also be done by hand. The dough will be quite sticky - this is good - but add a little more flour if it's too sticky to handle.
  • Lightly oil a large bowl and once the dough is kneaded, transfer it to the oiled bowl, Cover in gladwrap and put in a warm place to rise until doubled in size (1-2 hours)
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C.
  • Once risen, gently punch the dough down and leave it to rest for 10 minutes before rolling it out into a 35cm x 20cm rectangle.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey and wholegrain mustard and spread all over the rolled out dough.
  • Lay the slices of ham on the dough and top with the grated cheese. With the long side facing you, gently roll up the dough into a tight log.
  • With the seam side down, carefully slice the roll into 12 even pieces, placing the rolls into greased muffin tins. You may place them on a regular baking tray but I prefer making them in muffin tins.
  • Bake for 20 minutes until the cheese has melted and the rolls are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

This Ham and Cheese Stromboli is super easy to make and tastes delicious! Pizza crust is stuffed with honey mustard, monterrey jack cheese, and smoky Black Forest Ham, then baked to a crispy and cheesy perfection!

1 roll refrigerated, store bought pizza dough ((I used thin crust))
1/4 cup prepared honey mustard dressing
6-7 oz. thinly sliced Boar's Head Smoke Master Black Forest Ham
1 1/2 cups shredded Monterrey Jack Cheese
Garlic powder
2 Tablespoons parmesan cheese
Chopped parsley for garnish, (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray or oil.
  • Unroll pizza dough onto cookie sheet, spreading towards the edges and stretching into a large rectangle.
  • Sprinkle garlic powder over the surface of the dough then spread honey mustard in a thin, even layer.
  • Top with ham and cheese, then roll dough lengthwise folding in sides as you go. Sprinkle top with garlic powder and parmesan cheese, then cut slits into the top of the dough to allow heat to escape.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted. Serve with honey mustard for dipping. Enjoy!

Baked Ham and Cheese Rolls with Honey Mustard Sauce image

Classic ham and cheese sandwiches meet Stromboli in these baked rolls made with pizza dough and finished with honey mustard poppy seed glaze. A crowd-pleaser for kids and adults.

1 lb Pizza Dough ((store-bought or home-made))
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
8 large slices Ham ((thinner slices will roll easier))
8 large slices Swiss or Provolone Cheese
1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
1 Tbsp Honey
1 Tbsp Poppy Seeds

Steps:

  • If the pizza dough is refrigerated, take it out of the fridge 20 minutes before you begin so that it comes to room temperature (this will make it easier to work with).
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Spray an 8 x 8 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Roll pizza dough out on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle that is roughly 16" x 8" (just use the baking dish as a guide, no need to be exact).
  • Heat butter in the microwave until melted. Brush the surface of the rectangle lightly with melted butter (this should require about 1 Tablespoon of butter), and set the remaining butter aside.
  • Top the pizza dough with ham and then with cheese each in a single layer with no slices overlapping.
  • Starting with the edge closest to you, roll the pizza dough up into a log so that the ham and cheese is on the inside. Use a serrated knife to slice the roll into 9 even pieces. Place the pieces in the prepared baking dish and set aside to rise for 20 minutes.
  • Whisk remaining butter with mustard, honey and poppy seeds. After the dough has risen slightly, pour honey mustard glaze over the top of the rolls. (This will look like a lot of sauce, but that's what makes it so good!)
  • Bake the rolls until the dough is cooked through and golden on top, 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Serve rolls warm or at room temperature.

  • Into the bowl of your stand mixer, add the room-temperature milk, sugar and yeast and stir gently. Let sit for about 5 minutes.
  • Turn your mixer on low and watch the ingredients combine. After about a minute you should see a sticky dough starting to come together. If you need to turn the mixer off and scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl, now's your chance.
  • Turn up the mixer speed slightly and allow the mixture to knead the dough for about 2 minutes. The dough should be tacky to the touch, but not so sticky that it's very messy. If necessary, add a tablespoon or two of extra flour. It should pull away from the sides of the bowl easily and the bowl should appear fairly clean. If the dough appears too sticky, continue kneading and add flour, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough reaches that tacky texture (don't add more than 3 tablespoons).
