HONEY SPICE OATMEAL COOKIE MIX - GIFT IN A JAR
Compliments of the National Honey Board. Gift idea: Fill a pretty basket with 1 Jar of Gift Mix, Coffee Mugs, Individual packs of flavored coffee, tea, or hot chocolate mix.

Steps:
- To make mix:.
- In large bowl, combine flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, cloves and nutmeg; mix well.
- Add oats; mix well. Transfer to resealable plastic bag, an unbreakable decorative jar with lid or other airtight container. Store in cool dry place. A quart canning jar is most commonly used. If using a jar, cut out a square or circle of pretty fabric with pinking shears and place over jar lid, tie with a pretty ribbon or raffia.
- Attach a gift tag with the following mixing and baking instructions:.

- 1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter, softened (no substitutions).
- 3/4 cup honey.
- 1 large egg.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and honey with electric mixer until creamy.
- Add egg; beat well.
- Add half of cookie mix; beat well.
- Add remaining cookie mix; beat well.
- Divide dough into thirds; place each on a piece of plastic wrap and flatten to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Wrap tightly; chill at least 4 hours.
- Heat oven to 350°F Remove one portion of dough from refrigerator. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten to 1/8-inch thickness with bottom of glass dipped in granulated sugar. Repeat with remaining dough.
- Bake 5 to 7 minutes, just until centers are set. (Cookies will feel soft. Do not overbake.) Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.

Steps:
- Mix together flour, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Layer ingredients in the following order into a 1 quart, wide mouth canning jar: Flour mixture, raisins, rolled oats, brown sugar, and white sugar. It will be a tight fit, make sure you firmly pack down each layer before adding the next layer.
- Attach a tag with the following instructions: Oatmeal Raisin Spice Cookies 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. 2. Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly mix. 3. Mix in 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened. Stir in one slightly beaten egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Mix until completely blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Place on a parchment lined cookie sheets 2 inches apart. 4. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes in preheated oven, or until edges are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet. Transfer cookies to wire racks to finish cooling.

This is my spin on Honey bear cookies. The original had chocolate chips, apples and raisins. The chocolate chips and raisins reminded me too much of bear turds so I switched to things they might eat like blueberries and switched to white chocolate

- Attach the following recipe on a gift tag: Honey Bear Cookies: Blend 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 2 tablespoons softened butter or margarine, 1/4 cup honey, 1 egg and 1 tablespoon water. - Mix together the flour, baking powder and baking soda.set aside.
- Layer ingredients in order given in a wide-mouth quart jar. Press each layer firmly in place. It will be a tight fit.
- Add chopped peanut butter cups last.
- attach these instructions to jar:.
- REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER CUP COOKIES:.
- Remove peanut butter cups from jar and set aside.
- Empty remaining cookie mix into large mixing bowl,. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
- Add 1/2 cup butter, softened at room temperature.
- DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE OR LIGHT BUTTER.
- Add 1 large egg, slightly beaten, and 1 tsp vanilla.
- Mix until completely blended.
- You will need to finish mixing this with your hands. Mix in peanut butter cups.
- Shape into walnut sized balls.
- Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 375*.for 12-14 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
- Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet.
- Remove cookies to wire racks to finish cooling.
- Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
