Steps:
- Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in sugar and coffee. Reduce heat to low and stir until sugar and coffee dissolve. Remove from heat. Let stand for 1 hour or until cool.
- Stir vodka into coffee mixture and then pour into a large jar, scrapping in the seeds from the vanilla bean and then toss in the bean halves into the jar too, stirring to blend. Cover. and let stand at room temperature for at least 3 weeks or up to 6 weeks.
- Discard vanilla bean halves before serving.

- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, water and instant coffee. Bring to a boil, then let simmer 15 minutes. Remove from heat, and cool completely.
- When coffee mixture is completely cool, stir in vanilla and vodka. Pour into dark colored bottles, and store in the refrigerator.

- In a 3 quart saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in instant coffee, and allow to cool.
- When cool, stir in vanilla extract and vodka. Pour into clean bottles. Close bottles tightly, and store in a cool dark place.

- Stir the water, sugar, and instant coffee together in a saucepan over high heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture boils. Remove from the heat, and cool 30 to 45 minutes. Stir in the rum and vanilla. Using a funnel, pour into 3 clean wine bottles. Seal, and store in a dark, cool place at least 2 weeks before drinking.

Steps:
- Mix sugar, vanilla and the 2 cups water in a small saucepan.
- Stir over moderate heat until sugar dissolves.
- Continue cooking for 30 minutes, without stirring.
- In a large bowl or pitcher, mix coffee with the 1/4 cup boiling water until coffee dissolves.
- Stir in vodka and glycerin.
- Strain vanilla syrup into vodka mixture.
- Mix well and pour into sterilized bottles.
- Close bottles with caps or corks.
- Let liqueur age at least 30 days.

ORANGE COFFEE LIQUEUR

- Wash and dry the orange thoroughly.
- Using the sharp end of a paring knife, prick the skin of the orange all over.
- Insert the 44 coffee beans into the orange.
- Place the orange in a 1 1/2 quart canning jar.
- Add the sugar cubes and vodka.
- Close the lid making sure the cover is tight.
- Turn the jar upside down.
- Shake for at least a minute or two to help dissolve the sugar.
- Store in a cool, dry spot away from the heat and moisture of a kitchen.
- Each day, shake the jar until the sugar is totally dissolved.
- Allow to set for the entire 44 days until the vodka turns to a pale lovely orange color and has a coffee-orange fragrance.
- To use, remove the orange and coffee beans. Strain the liquid through a fine-meshed sieve into pretty clear bottles or a clear glass decanter.
- Serve in small liqueur glasses at room temperature or slightly chilled. You can also add it to white wine. Makes a nice accompaniment to winter fruit or fruit compotes or alone as an after-dinner drink.
