Homemade Blueberry Vodka Food

VODKA BLUEBERRY LIQUEUR

Steps:

• In a 2-quart jar dissolve sugar in vodka. Pour in blueberries and cover the jar.
• Store in cool, dark place for 2 months (refrigerator is okay). Occasionally shake gently. Strain and serve in cordial glasses, or if you prefer, over ice.

BLUEBERRY VODKA MARTINIS

Steps:

• To make the blueberry vodka: Pour out approximately 1/3 of the bottle of vodka into a holding container; set aside. Score each blueberry with a small nick and place into vodka bottle. With the vodka previously set aside, fill the vodka bottle until just below the neck. Add just enough raspberry liqueur to top off the bottle. Let sit in a dark place for 2 weeks.
• To make martinis: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine 2 parts blueberry vodka, 1 part raspberry liqueur, and a dash of lime juice. Shake vigorously and strain into glass. Garnish with twist of lime zest.

HOMEMADE FRESH BLUEBERRY VODKA

Steps:

• 1. Wash blueberries and place 1/2 of them in a plastic bag and the other half in another plastic bag. Seal the bag and squish the blueberries with your hands a bit.
• 2. Pour 1/2 of the vodka in a quart jar. Pour in one bag of blueberries. Repeat in another quart jar. Seal jar.
• 3. Place in a cool dark place for two weeks. Shaking once in a while. Strain through an cloth strainer and discard blueberries. Pour into bottles.

HOMEMADE BLUEBERRY VODKA

Steps:

• 1. pour out vodka saving it. Take blueberries and nick one side and place in bottle. Fill with voska to the neck, top off with raspberry liqueur and let sit in a cool dark place 2 weeks. Empty contents threough a seive and return to bottle. Top bottle off with reserved vodka. BLUEBERRY CORDIAL

Steps:

• In a large saucepan combine everything. Simmer over medium heat and stir with wooden spoon to dissolve the sugar. Mash the berries as they soften, with the spoon, or a potato masher. I tried an immersion blender which worked ok but the masher was the most effective.
• Once dissolved, let cool, then steep overnight in the refrigerator. This will get the max flavour from the berries.
• Next day, strain into a bottle (clean softdrink is perfect). I used a funnel with a wire mesh strainer over the top, and poured a little at a time. Squeeze the juice from the pulp through the strainer. Set pulp aside - delicious with icecream!
• To reconstitute to a delicious drink, try 1 part cordial to 5 or 6 parts water. This will depend on how sweet you like your drinks.
• KEEP IN REFRIGERATOR.
• It makes 1.75 litres which will creat about 12 litres of drink.

BLUEBERRY LIQUEUR

Steps:

• In a glazed ceramic or glass container, mash the berries.
• Add vodka, water, cloves and coriander.
• Cover container and let stand at room temperature for 10 days.
• Strain mixture through a fine sieve into another glass or ceramic container.
• Discard residue.
• Add sugar to strained liquid and stir until it dissolves.
• Let mixture stand at room temperature for about 24 hours.
• Pour mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth; pour into sterilized bottle (s) and cap.
