Pasta Salad Seasoning Mix makes a big batch so you'll be ready for summer picnics. Use three tablespoons of this seasoning mix per one pound of pasta salad.

1/4 cup sesame seeds
2 1/2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons salt
1 1/2 tablespoons poppy seed
1 1/2 tablespoons celery seed
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup parmesan cheese cheese

Steps:

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • When making pasta salad, use 3 tablespoons of seasoning per pound of pasta. Use more or less according to taste.

1 tbsp Onion Powder
1 tbsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Dried Basil
1 tbsp Dried Oregano
2 tbsp Dried Parsley
1 tsp Dried Thyme
1 tsp Black Pepper (coarsely crushed)
1 tsp Sugar ((optional))
1 tsp Lemon Salt or Citric Acid Crystals

Steps:

  • Crush the lemon salt & sugar (if using) in a stone grinder manually. Tip into a small bowl.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl and mix well to combine.
  • Store in an airtight, sealed container and refrigerate. Mix may settle, so stir well before each use.

Yield 3 cups Super Salad Seasoning Mix

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 cups grated parmesan cheese
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup sesame seeds (toasting may bring out more flavor)
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon instant minced onion
2 tablespoons parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon dried dill seed
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 teaspoon msg (optional)
3 tablespoons celery seeds
2 teaspoons paprika
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Mix well.
  • Put into a 1-qt.
  • airtight container.
  • Label.
  • Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Use within 3 to 4 months.
  • This mix can be sprinkled over tossed green salads, baked potatoes, and various breads before toasting.
  • It can also be a garnish for potato salads, macaroni/pasta salads, or egg salads.
  • You can also make a dip with 2 tablespoons.
  • mix and add 1 cup sour cream.
  • NOTE: You could probably add dried red or green pepper for extra color and flavor too, if desired!
