MERRY CHERRY DESSERT

Steps:
- Reserve 1/3 cup cherry pie filling for garnish; set aside. Add boiling water to gelatin mix in large bowl; stir at least 2 min. until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water and remaining cherry pie filling. Refrigerate 45 min. or until slightly thickened.
- Place cake cubes in 3-qt. serving bowl; cover with gelatin mixture. Refrigerate 45 min. or until gelatin layer is set but not firm.
- Beat pudding mixes and milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min. Stir in 2 cups COOL WHIP; spoon over gelatin layer in bowl. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm. Top with remaining COOL WHIP and reserved cherry pie filling.

Steps:
- Drain cherries, reserving 2 tablespoons juice (discard remaining juice or save for another use). In a large saucepan, combine sugar and flour. Stir in the pineapple, cherries and reserved juice. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat. Add gelatin powder; stir until dissolved. Stir in food coloring if desired. Cool until partially set., Stir in bananas and pecans. Pour into the pie shell. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving. Garnish with whipped topping.

- In a large saucepan, bring 1 cup water to a boil. Stir in cherry gelatin until dissolved. Stir in pie filling. Pour into an 11x7-in. dish. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until set., In a small saucepan, bring remaining water to a boil. Stir in lemon gelatin until dissolved. In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Beat in lemon gelatin and pineapple. Cover and refrigerate for 45 minutes. , Fold in the marshmallows and whipped cream. Spoon over cherry layer; sprinkle with pecans. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until set.

HOLIDAY EGGNOG PIE
Steps:
- Soften 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin in 2 cups eggnog on top of double boiler. Add 1/4 cup sugar and stir until gelatin and sugar are throughly dissolved.
- Add 2 more cups of eggnog, nutmeg, and rum, if desired. Chill.
- Whip chilled mixture until light and fluffy and then fold in whipped heavy cream.
- Pour mixture into a 9- or 10-inch cooked pie shell. Chill until firm.
- Garnish with additional whipped cream and cherries, if desired.
HOLIDAY CHERRY GELATIN PIE

- Drain the cherries reserving 2 tablespoons of the juice.
- In a large saucepan combine 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar and flour.
- Stir in the crushed pineapple with juice, cherries and the 2 tablespoons reserved cherry juice; bring to a boil, cook stirring for about 2 minutes, or until thickened; remove from heat.
- Add in the cherry gelatin powder; stir until dissolved, then stir in the red food colouring.
- Chill until PARTIALLY set.
- Stir in the sliced bananas and nuts.
- Pour into baked and cooled pie shell.
- Refrigerate for a minimum of 3 hours until completely set before serving.
- Slice and dollop with whipped cream or Cool Whip topping, or spread the whipped cream on top of the pie and then slice.

Easy yummy dessert. Make your own cherry mix if you want but sometimes it's nice to take a shortcut. I use E.D. Smith pie filling. This is another no fail recipe.

- Stir boiling water into dry gelatin in large bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water and cherry pie filling. Refrigerate 1 hour or until slightly thickened (consistency of unbeaten egg whites).
- Place cake cubes in 3-quart serving bowl. Spoon gelatin mixture over cake. Refrigerate 45 minutes or until set but not firm (should stick to finger when touched and should mound).
- Pour milk into large bowl. Add pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes. Gently stir in 2 cups of the whipped topping. Spoon over gelatin mixture in bowl. Refrigerate 2 hours or until set.
- Top with remaining whipped topping.

Steps:
- Preheat an oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- Whisk together the flour, white sugar, brown sugar, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl. Cut the softened butter into the flour mixture using a pastry blender until crumbly; set aside.
- Bake the pie crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven; reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Stir together the cherry pie filling and cinnamon. Pour into the prepared pie crust. Sprinkle crumb topping over the pie, then sprinkle with the sliced almonds.
