1 package (16 ounces) frozen Brussels sprouts
1 package (10 ounces) frozen peas
2 tablespoons butter
2 celery ribs, chopped
2 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
2 tablespoons minced fresh chives

Steps:

  • Cook Brussels sprouts and peas according to package directions; drain., In a large skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add celery; cook and stir until crisp-tender. Add Brussels sprouts, peas, bacon and chives; toss to combine.

From Central Market. I tasted it there, and it's pretty fab! Great for Thanksgiving or other fall meals. Cook time is estimated, as I've not made this yet.

1 lb Brussels sprout, trimmed and halved
1 shallot, minced
2 tablespoons grapeseed oil or 2 tablespoons olive oil
salt and pepper
1/2 lemon, juice of
1 -1 1/2 cup chestnuts, halved
3 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Place Brussels sprouts in a large saucepan over 1 inch of boiling water and steam until tender, 7 to 8 minutes.
  • Rinse them with cold water and drain.
  • Heat oil in a large saute pan over medium heat. Saute shallots until golden, add Brussels sprouts, and season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Continue to saute Brussels sprouts until lightly golden; squeeze lemon juice over sprouts and mix well.
  • Add chestnuts and heat throughout.
  • In a separate saucepan, brown butter.
  • Pour over sprout mixture and serve immediately.

I found this on the Weight Watchers website and it is a favorite, diet or not, I have made it with dried cranberries and fresh. there is no comparison. Fresh cranberry is the way to go! That's why these are "holiday" sprouts because fresh cranberries are only available around the holidays. Go figure:)

1 lb Brussels sprout, rinsed trimmed and cut in half
3 tablespoons sugar-free syrup
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
salt and pepper
1/3 cup fresh cranberries, coarsely chopped

Steps:

  • -Mix together in medium dish; syrup, oil, apple cider vinegar, salt pepper and Dijon.
  • -Spray bottom of pie dish with cooking spray.
  • -toss Brussels sprouts in syrup mixture to coat and put into pie plate.
  • -sprinkle cranberries over top.
  • -bake at 375 for 30 minutes, stir around after 15 minutes.
