Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 pounds chicken wings and drumettes
4 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
3 tbsp chili garlic sauce
2 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp lime zest (1 reg lime)
2 tbsp fresh lime juice (1 reg lime)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450. Line large baking sheet with foil and place wire rack on top. Set aside.
  • Dry chicken wings and drumettes with paper towels. Get the chicken as dry as possible.
  • Add baking powder, salt and pepper to a large bowl, mix together. Add the chicken and coat the chicken in the baking powder mixture.
  • Lay the chicken on the baking sheet on top of the wire rack, make sure the chicken is not touching.

  • After the chicken has baked, remove from the oven, brush with the sauce.
  • Cook the chicken for an additional 15 minutes with the sauce on. Remove from the oven and serve.

CHILI LIME CHICKEN WINGS

Chili Lime Chicken Wings image

Chili Lime Chicken Wings on the grill are tangy and sweet with a little bit of heat. Scrumptious even cold (if you manage to have any leftovers, which I doubt).

Provided by Cheryl

Categories     Main Course

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 14

3 pounds chicken wings, tips off (whole or split) (about 12-15)
1/3 cup light mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoon lime juice
2 teaspoon chili powder (or more, to taste)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon lime juice
3 tablespoon honey
zest of 1 lime
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon chili powder or more, to taste
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • MARINATE WINGS: Mix marinade ingredients in a bowl. Place marinade in a ziploc bag with wings. Seal bag and massage to coat the wings well. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  • GRILL WINGS: Spray grill with oil (or use an oiled paper towel to oil grills) and heat to High. Tip: I also spray the wings with oil to avoid sticking on grill. Lower burners on half of grill to medium low heat (about 325F). Leave other half on High. Place wings on side with low heat. Cover and grill for 15-20 minutes, depending on the size of the wings, turning once or twice.
  • MIX GLAZE: In the meantime, combine ingredients for the glaze in a bowl. If you prefer the glaze a little thicker, place the ingredients in a small saucepan and boil for a minute until slightly thickened.
  • FINISH WINGS: Increase heat under wings to medium-high and continue grilling wings for a few minutes on each side to get a golden crispy skin on the wings. Brush glaze on wings with a pastry brush. Grill for a few minutes. Turn the wings. Glaze the other side and grill for a few more minutes. Watch carefully as the sugar in the glaze can burn easily. Serve hot or at room temperature.

GRILLED CHIPOTLE LIME HONEY GLAZED CHICKEN WINGS

Grilled Chipotle Lime Honey Glazed Chicken Wings image

i made this for my family and they loved them, since i am a vegetarian, i just basted some of this glaze onto a piece of veggie grilled chicken, and it was delicious... add more chipotle puree if you want them to bee spicier, or less for milder and sweeter wings. if possible, do not leave out the grated panela, it adds a complexity of flavor that cannot be duplicated with other ingredients.

Provided by Ntune2food

Categories     Chicken

Time 1h5m

Yield 12 wings, 2-3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

12 chicken wings

  • for a basting sauce mix the remaining lime juice, 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp of grated panela, and about a tablespoon of chile powder in a bowl and set aside.
  • for glaze add apple cider vinegar, honey, remaining grated panela to a small sauce pan, and reduce till glaze is thick and coats a spoon. then add chipotle puree one tablespoon at a time, to get to desired spiciness and then add some lime zest to the glaze, and set aside or over low fire to keep warm.
  • start a charcoal fire in your grill (or start a gas grill) and let heat to a medium high to high heat. add wings to the grill and let brown on one side, flip wings and baste with chili lime juice mixture. when wings are done, and basted. add some glaze to one side of wings and flip over, grill for 2-3 minutes, then glaze the other side of the wings and flip again, and grill for another 2-3 minutes -- remove from the grill and add the remaining glaze to the wings.

GRILLED CHILI-LIME CHICKEN

Grilled Chili-Lime Chicken image

This is great as a main dish, but if you have left-overs or make a double batch, the chicken can be cut into strips and frozen, then used on salads or in wraps for lunch. I have two recipes I'm posting that use these chicken strips: Chili-Lime Chicken and Avocado Wraps, Chili-Lime Chicken Mexi-Ranch Salad. I also use the leftovers for impromptu fajitas. (In our house, these are "Make it your own self" meals.) I've never tried this marinade on flank steak, but I bet all of the above would be great with it as well. If you try it before I do, please let me know how it turns out!

Provided by Gatorbek

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 3h10m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons green onions, minced
1 garlic clove, minced
4 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
2 teaspoons cumin
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except chicken in a large zipper bag. Squish to combine. Add chicken, turn to coat well. Refrigerate and marinate for about 3 hours or so.
  • Heat grill to medium high. Remove chicken and discard remaining marinade. Grill chicken 4-5 minutes on each side, or until juices run clear. This works well on an indoor or outdoor grill, but I wouldn't recommend baking it. If you absolutely can't grill it, you might get away with searing it in a skillet.
  • Leftovers can be sliced and frozen to be used later in other recipes. (See above).
