Steps:

  • Start by trimming the ends of your green beans and slice into 2 inch pieces. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the green beans. Cook until tender 5-8 minutes and drain and put the green beans in an ice bath.
  • In a medium sized skillet cook the bacon until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain the fat. Add the butter to the skillet and garlic and saute until tender. Add bacon, green beans, and parmesan cheese to the skillet and cook until heated through. Salt and pepper to taste.

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Beat the egg in a shallow dish with 1 tablespoon water. In another shallow dish, stir together the Parmesan, garlic powder and some salt and pepper. Dip the green beans first in the egg mixture, rolling them to fully coat. 1 garlic clove, large and crushed
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • "Snap" and remove the "strings" from the beans.
  • Combine the beans with enough water to cover in a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer for 6 to 8 minutes or until "tender-crisp.".

1 1/2 tbsp shredded Parmesan (Omit for Whole 30)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum for easy clean-up.
  • Lay green beans out on the baking sheet and drizzle oil over them. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder and toss to evenly coat.
