These Gooey Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Bars could not be more delicious and perfect for a back to school weekend dessert!

3 cups Reese's Puffs™ cereal Peanut Butter
3 cups Chocolate Cheerios™ cereal
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup white candy melts, melted
1 cup chocolate candy melts, melted

Steps:

  • Place cereal and marshmallows into a large mixing bowl. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper and spray generously with cooking spray.
  • Place brown sugar, corn syrup and peanut butter into a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir and let boil for one minute. Remove and stir in vanilla and salt. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until well combined, the marshmallows will melt while stirring. Pour cereal mixture into prepared baking dish spreading and pressing evenly, will be sticky, doesn't have to be perfect. Drizzle top layer with melted white chocolate then with melted chocolate.
  • Let cool completely before cutting into squares. Serve room temperature.

I got this recipe off the side of a Pillsbury yellow cake mix box. It is easy to make and good when you need that peanut butter/chocolate fix.

1 package pillsbury yellow butter recipe cake mix
1 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup water
1 egg
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 1/2 cups slightly crushed corn flakes

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In large bowl, combine all base ingredients at low speed until well blended.
  • Press evenly in ungreased 15 X 10 X 1 inch baking pan.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 13 to 18 minutes or until light golden brown.
  • Cool slightly.
  • In medium saucepan, melt chocolate chips over low heat, stirring constantly.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup peanut butter and cereal.
  • Spread over slightly cooled base.
  • Refrigerate to set topping.
  • Cut into bars.

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, spray with cooking spray; set aside. I strongly recommend lining the pan for easier cleanup.
  • To the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment (or large bowl and electric mixer) add the cake mix, egg, butter, vanilla, and mix on medium speed until combined. Stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl as necessary. Dough is very thick (thicker than cookie dough) and you’ll know it’s the right consistency when it forms a softball-like mass inside the mixer and the ‘softball’ sticks to the paddle. I added 3 tablespoons of water in order to get the dough to combine but all brands of mixes are slightly different in exact size, ingredients, etc. so add water only as necessary.
  • Turn half the dough out into prepared pan, pressing lightly with a spatula or your fingertips to create and even, flat crust.
