Categories     Dinner, Main course, Supper

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 tbsp crème fraîche
½ tbsp Dijon mustard
½ lemon, zested and juiced
200g long-stem broccoli, each cut into 3 pieces
350g fresh gnocchi

GNOCCHI WITH BACON CREAM SAUCE

Gnocchi with Bacon Cream Sauce image

Amazingly tender gnocchi are bathed in two of the best things in the world: bacon and cream, then sprinkled with cheese for one of the best side dishes ever.

Provided by Eden Westbrook

Categories     Dinner

Time 12m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 lb gnocchi
Water, enough to fill a large pot 3/4 full
4 strips smoked bacon, chopped
2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
2 egg yolks, beaten well
1/4 cup (59 mL) milk or cream
1/4 cup (20 g) freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup (59 mL) chicken broth
1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
Kosher Salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste
Chopped parsley and more parmesan, to garnish

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • While bringing the water to a boil, in a medium mixing bowl, mix together egg yolks, milk, and parmesan cheese with a fork or whisk. Set aside.
  • In a large high sided saute pan or large skillet over medium high heat, cook chopped bacon to desired crispness. At this point, you could remove or keep the rendered bacon fat, it's entirely up to you. Once done, turn heat to low and add garlic. Stir well, making sure garlic doesn't burn.
  • Add gnocchi to the water and cook for 2-3 minutes, or as package describes.
  • Drain gnocchi, then add to the pan. Add the egg mixture to the skillet (heat still on low, or turned off) and mix well.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the chicken stock into the cornstarch, then add to the sauce to thicken. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Serve immediately with parsley and parmesan as garnish.

EASY GNOCCHI WITH BUTTER GARLIC AND PARMESAN

Easy Gnocchi with Butter Garlic and Parmesan image

Boiled soft and fluffy gnocchi is sauteed in butter with garlic, thyme, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese until golden. This easy dinner will come together in only 20 minutes and only has 5 ingredients.

Provided by lyuba

Categories     Main Course

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 6

16 oz gnocchi
3 tbsp unsalted butter
3 large cloves of garlic (smashed and minced)
2 tsp fresh thyme
2 oz freshly grated Parmesan cheese
salt to taste

Steps:

  • Prepare your ingredients first: smash and mince garlic, take thyme leaves off sprigs, cut butter, and open package of Parmesan cheese if needed.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to boil, stir the water with a wooden spoon, and add gnocchi while water is swirling. (This will help keep gnocchi from sticking.)
  • Let gnocchi boil until they all float at the top and give it another minute. Pour water and gnocchi through a fine strainer and let excess water drain off.
  • When gnocchi is almost done boiling, preheat a saute pan over medium-high heat.
  • Melt butter and start to saute garlic. When garlic starts to golden, add thyme and saute just a couple of seconds until fragrant.
  • Carefully add gnocchi, season with some salt, and toss everything to mix. Sear, stirring once in a while, until sides of gnocchi get golden. (If you like it crispier, sear it a little longer until browned.)
  • Grate Parmesan cheese over the top, stir, and serve.

  • Gradually add the flour while stopping to fold it into the ricotta mixture. Keep doing this until a soft dough forms. *See notes
  • Tip: I find the amount of flour needed depends on the creaminess of the ricotta (some can be wetter than others). Keep adding the flour until the dough is soft and easy to handle without sticking to your hands.
  • Dust a work surface with flour and tip the dough out from the bowl. Shape the ricotta gnocchi dough into a rough rectangle log shape and cut it in half. The dough will be quite sticky at the edges you cut so always dust the knife with flour before cutting and then lightly dust the cut edges.

7 PERFECT SAUCES FOR GNOCCHI - THE SPRUCE EATS

From thespruceeats.com
  • Gnocchi With Butter, Sage, and Shaved Parmesan. Sage and potatoes are a natural pairing, so dishes like gnocchi alla salvia (gnocchi with sage) are Italian classics.
  • Gnocchi With Tomato Sauce and Fresh Basil. Believe it or not, carrots are a highly recommended addition to tomato pasta sauce for their sweetness, fresh flavor, and bright aroma.
  • Gnocchi With Pesto Sauce. Purists define a pesto as a sauce made with basil, olive oil, pine nuts, Parmesan, and garlic. But these days, you can use any leafy green (spinach, parsley, mint, whatever), as well as any sort of nut, such as walnuts, pistachios, or almonds.
  • Gnocchi With Mushroom Cream Sauce. Here's another classic seasonal pairing. So many mushrooms appear in autumn—the woodsy porcini, chanterelles, and more—that it's natural to combine them with potatoes and sage.
  • Gnocchi With Gorgonzola Sauce. This sauce is so yummy. The zesty flavor of the Gorgonzola (an Italian blue cheese similar to Roquefort, Stilton, or Maytag) really wakes up the mild flavor of the potatoes, and the creamy texture complements the fluffy, pillowlike gnocchi.
  • Gnocchi With Primavera Sauce. So far, all the sauces we've listed are quite autumnal or wintery. But lest you think gnocchi is just a cold weather food, let us dissuade you.
  • Gnocchi in Creamy Pink Tomato Sauce. This creamy tomato sauce is comforting yet delicate, especially when prepared with a brightly flavored canned tomato sauce of good quality.

7 BEST VEGETARIAN GNOCCHI RECIPES (VEGGIE GNOCCHI) – PASTA.COM

From pasta.com
  • Vegan Gnocchi. You may associate gnocchi with cream sauces or others that might not be vegan friendly, but that doesn’t have to be the case. The gnocchi itself doesn’t usually contain animal products, and it is easy to put together a dish that keeps them out altogether.
  • Easy Weeknight Veggie Gnocchi Recipe. With everyone seemingly having busier schedules these days, simple weeknight recipes are essential. This veggie gnocchi recipe is perfect for meatless Monday, or pretty much any other day of the week.
  • Crispy Pan-Fried Vegan Gnocchi with Mushrooms and Broccoli. Mushrooms and broccoli are an underrated combination. The fresh taste of the broccoli counteracts the meaty, umami flavor of the mushrooms, making them a perfect pair for a wide range of dishes.
  • Gnocchi with Garlic Cream Tomato Sauce. If the thought of garlic cream tomato sauce doesn’t have you running to the store to buy everything for this recipe, we don’t know what will!
  • Parmesan Spinach Gnocchi. Spinach is one of the healthiest things you can eat. A parmesan spinach mixture, on the other hand, might not be, but who are we to judge?
  • Tuscan Vegan Gnocchi. This one-pan recipe may be vegan, but it certainly isn’t lacking in richness. Using vegan sausage, spinach, and sun-dried tomatoes, you create a dish that is salty, savory, sweet, bitter, and perfect.
  • Vegan Gnocchi Mushroom Florentine. It should come as no surprise that mushrooms keep popping up in these recipes. They make for a wonderful pairing with fluffy potato dumplings.
