Low-Carb Gluten-Free Cheese Bread Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: shredded mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, italian seasoning, egg, shredded cheddar cheese

Number Of Ingredients 8

¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 oz cream cheese
⅓ cup almond flour, or coconut flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon italian seasoning
1 egg, beaten
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425˚F (220˚C).
  • Melt mozzarella and cream cheese together in the microwave for 1 minute, stirring every 20 seconds, or until fully melted.
  • Combine almond (or coconut) flour, baking powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and egg. Mix well, then stir in the melted mozzarella until fully incorporated. Stir in cheddar, then shape into a ball, cover, and chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Dust a cutting board with a handful of almond (or coconut) flour. Cut dough into 4 even pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Cut each ball in half and place cut side down on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Assemble with desired sandwich toppings.
  • Enjoy!

I stumbled upon this recipe on line and thought it sounded yummy. I think this would be great with toasted english walnuts and cranberries too. Can't wait to try this!

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 2/3 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
2 tablespoons orange peel, grated
1/4 cup orange juice

Steps:

  • Combine cream cheese and shortening, creaming well.
  • Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs, beating well after each addition.
  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix well after each addition.
  • Stir in walnuts and orange peel.
  • Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 8-1/2 x 4-1/2 x 3 inch loaf pans.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F for 55 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in pan for 10 mintues. Then sprinkle orange juice over loaves. Remove to wire rack to finish cooling.

This orange quick bread reminds us of a super-rich pound cake with a subtle orange flavor. The loaf is super moist and tender - almost has a creamy texture. Nuts add a little texture and feel free to add more if you love nutty bread. Drizzling orange juice on the top crust was our favorite part.

1 pkg cream cheese, softened (8 oz)
1/2 c shortening

1/4 c orange juice

Steps:

  • 1. Combine cream cheese and shortening, creaming well.
  • 2. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  • 3. Add eggs, beating well after each addition.
  • 4. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • 5. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
  • 6. Alternate milk and flour mixture ending with flour mixture. Mix well after each addition.
  • 7. Stir in walnuts and orange peel.
  • 8. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 8-1/2 x 4-1/2 x 3 inch loaf pans.
  • 9. Bake at 375 degrees F for about 55 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • 10. Let cool in pan for 10 mintues. Then sprinkle orange juice over loaves.
  • 11. Remove to wire rack to finish cooling.

Gluten Free stuff can get really soggy really quickly, so I wouldn't suggest putting any liquid on top. Unless you are getting ready to eat it. However we did NOT put the orange juice over the tops of ours.

1/4 c butter, softened
1 c sugar
3 eggs
2 c gluten free baking mix (i used pamela's baking & pancak mix)
1/4 c orange juice
1/2 c chopped walnuts
2 Tbsp orange zest

Steps:

  • 1. Combine Cream Cheeseand Butter, creaming well
  • 2. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy
  • 3. Add eggs, beating well after each one
  • 4. Add flour alternately with orange juice, begining with one cup flour then 1/8 cup orange juice the repeat. Mix well after each addtion.
  • 5. Stir in walnuts and orange zest.
  • 6. Pour batter into greased pans. I use small individual pans.
  • 7. Bake at 350 degreesF for 30 minutes or until wooden toothpick that's inserted into the center comes out clean.

1 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 medium mashed ripened bananas
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon orange rind, grated
3 tablespoons orange juice

Steps:

  • Place 1 cup of the pecans in a single layer in a shallow pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until toasted.
  • Beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs, 1 at a time beating just until blended after each addition.
  • Combine flour and next 3 ingredients; gradually add to butter mixture, beating at low speed just until blended.
  • Stir in bananas, pecans, and vanilla.
  • Spoon batter into 2 greased and floured 8 by 4 inch loaf pans. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup of pecans evenly over batter in the pans.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until a long wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean and sides pull away from the pan, shielding with aluminum foil during the last 15 minutes to prevent excessive browning, if necessary.
  • Meanwhile, stir together powdered sugar, orange rind, and orange juice until blended.
  • Cool bread in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes. Remove bread from pans to wire racks.
  • Drizzle orange icing evenly over warm bread and cool for 30 minutes on wire racks.

1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar (icing sugar or powdered sugar)

Steps:

  • Blend together cream cheese, butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla until light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add 2 cups of the flour sifted with baking powder. Toss remaining 1/4 cup flour with cranberries and nuts, and fold into batter. Pour into 2 well greased 9-inch loaf pans and bake in preheated 350°F oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
  • Combine confectioners' sugar and milk, and drizzle over bread while still warm. Yield: Two 9-inch loaves.
