Time 16m

Number Of Ingredients 5

up to 6 mini ears of frozen corn on the cob
water
1-2 tablespoons of butter
salt to taste
pepper taste

Steps:

  • Make sure to use frozen corn that hasn't defrosted. Place the corn in a microwave-safe dish that also has a microwave-safe lid, like a glass lid. Add enough water to the bottom of the dish to be about 1/2 inch deep. Cover the dish and pop it in the microwave. Cook 4-6 ears on high for 14-15 minutes. Cook 2-3 ears on high for 10-12 minutes. When it's done, the sides of the cob should be hot and not feel cold. Remove the corn from the baking dish to a plate and smear with butter and add salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

frozen microwaveable corn on the cob

Steps:

  • 1. Purchase some frozen microwaveable corn on the cob. It's already done, so when you put it in the microwave, it won't take too long. 2. Wash the corn off in cold water to get rid of some of the frozen ice. You can also place the corn in some cold water in the sink and let it set for about five to ten minutes, so when you get ready to cook it, it won't take too long. 3. Fill a microwaveable bowl with some water and place all of the corn in the bowl. 4. Cook on high for seven minutes. 5. Check to see if the corn is done by sticking a fork in it. You can also take one corn out to see if it's still cold on the inside. If it is, cook for five more minutes. 6. Drain corn after microwaving and serve with melted butter.

MICROWAVE CORN ON THE COB

Microwave Corn on the Cob image

Simple and quick. Different from the other recipes in that the corn is wrapped in wax paper. Adjustable to any reasonable amount of corn. Would be ideal for someone cooking for one or two. From Kraft Food + Family. The butter is listed as an optional ingredient since you really don't need it, but I enjoy melting a huge blob of it on my corn after it's done :-)

Time 10m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 2

4 ears corn
4 tablespoons butter (optional)

Steps:

  • Shuck fresh corn. Wrap each ear in wax paper.
  • Microwave for 2 minutes per ear of corn. (For 4 ears, 8 minutes.) Remove from microwave, open carefully, and enjoy. I like to top mine with salt and butter, the magazine suggested a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and lime juice.
  • To keep them warm awhile, leave wrapped and cover with a kitchen towel :-).
