DROP BISCUITS

Drop Biscuits image

These drop biscuits have a higher ratio of butter and milk to flour than other cut out biscuits, which yield a sticky dough. Once the wet ingredients are pulsed into the dry, we simply scoop drops of dough onto a baking sheet and bake. The result is a coarsely textured, golden biscuit with a tender, buttery crumb.

EASY FRENCH ONION BISCUITS

Easy French Onion Biscuits image

Another quick and easy recipe. This was in a small Bisquick Recipe book I got years ago. I added the cheese, but can't take all the credit, but they are still really good. Just mix and bake. Five (5) minutes to make, 15 minutes to bake and on the table. The best part is that these are just as great for company as they are for every night. I like to serve with a herb butter.

Provided by SarasotaCook

Categories     Breads

Time 25m

Yield 6-12 Biscuits, 6-12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups Bisquick
1/4 cup milk
1 (8 ounce) container French onion dip
1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • Biscuits -- Mix the Bisquick, milk onion dip, parsley.
  • Bake -- Just drop spoonfuls of the mix on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with a non-stick spray. Top with the grated cheese and a light sprinkle of the paprika.
  • Bake at 400 degrees until golden brown. 12-18 minutes. Just check, because all pans, biscuit size and ovens vary. You just want them golden brown. ENJOY! Don't forget to serve with a herb butter. I can buy a stick of herb butter right at my grocery store. Makes a nice touch to the biscuits.

  • Whisk together flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder in a large bowl. Cut cold butter into flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. I shred my butter with a hand shredder but you could cut it in small pieces. I just use a large spoon to cut the butter into the flour.
  • Stir in the French onion dip and buttermilk with a spoon until it comes together with the flour. Sprinkle some flour onto a counter top or board, pat out with your hands to about 1/2 inch thick. Cut out biscuits with a biscuit cutter. (You can use an empty metal can or a glass, too.)
