Steps:

  • 1. Cut a gash in the side of each frankfurter. Spread prepared mustard inside; add a strip of cheese and push the frankfurter back in shape. Wrap a strip of bacon around it. Fasten with a toothpick. Grill until cheese melts and bacon is crisp.
  • 2. Cut gashes in the frankfurters and spread the inside with garlic butter to which you have added chopped chives and parsley. Wrap with bacon strips and grill.
  • 3. Mash blue cheese with a little grated onion and blend in chopped chives and parsley. Gash the frankfurters and stuff them with this mixture. Wrap with bacon strips and grill.
  • 4. Cut frankfurters in 1-inch pieces. Alternate these on skewers with tiny whole tomatoes and strips of green pepper. Grill. Serve with a good hot Mexican chili.

HOT DOGS IN A LOAF

Hot Dogs In A Loaf image

I love this simple yet filling dish, it is always a hit with kids too. I use a larger dish, I believe its a 8x11 and I double the dough mix, It makes a nicer dish and your hot dogs don't get squished. I put a slice of cheese, and sweet relish in the hot dog slice and then use catsup and mustard as a condiment.

Provided by Laura Daszynicz

Categories     Pork

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 hotdogs
cheese, relish, catsup
1 c baking mix
1/4 c milk

Mix remaining ingredients with a fork; beat vigorously 30 seconds. Spread in pan. Arrange hot dogs crosswise on dough, curving slightly and pressing to fit pan. Press into dough slightly. Bake until bread is light brown, about 20 minutes. To serve cut bread between hot dogs.
