FIRE CRACKERS
Seasoned saltine crackers that are simple to make and add a special touch for your dips and spreads at parties. I have had these on several occasions at bachelorette parties and babies showers but was never given the recipe. My sister had them recently at a birthday party, got the recipe, and passed it on to me. Unfortunately, I don't know who to credit for this, but it's certainly a keeper!!! Was initially concerned about the amount of oil, but hey, it's party food, RIGHT? I have used whole wheat crackers and different kinds of dip/dressing mixes successfully so have fun and get creative!

Steps:
- Line crackers on ends (like dominoes) in an air-tight container.
- In a small bowl, mix oil, dressing mix, peppers, and garlic powder.
- Stir until all ingredients are well mixed.
- Continue to stir to prevent the pepper from settling on the bottom of the bowl.
- Spoon mixture evenly over crackers, like drizzling icing on a cake.
- Close lid tightly and flip the container over every 5 minutes for about 20 minutes. Lightly shake back and forth to make sure all the crackers are coated.
- Store in a ziplock bag. Will keep for about a week -- if they last that long!

Steps:
- Prepare the cake mix as per package instructions. Separate evenly into three bowls of about 1 ½ cups batter each. Color one bowl red, and one blue. Gently stir color into batter. Pour into three loaf pans that are lightly greased and lined with a parchment sleeve. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake tests clean. The cakes should be fully cooked through. Allow to cool completely.
- Using a 1-inch biscuit cutter, cut 8-10 circles out of each of the cakes. Gently brush the outside of each of the cut-outs with simple syrup and then coat in sanding sugar. Let the cut-outs dry for 10 minutes before assembling.
- Dab a ¼-½ teaspoon of frosting on each of the red cakes, and then top with a white cake. Dab with another ¼-½ teaspoon of frosting and then top with the blue cakes. Using a straw, cut a hole through the center of the cakes, discard. Fill the cakes with popping candy and top with a 1-inch length of black licorice. Serve within an hour.
- TIP: Letting the sanding sugar dry is necessary to prevent the colors from bleeding.

Steps:
- In a shallow dish or large plastic bag, add the soy sauce, buffalo sauce, garlic, honey, and sweet chili sauce. After mixing, reserve half the marinade in a separate bowl for later.
- On a cutting board, slice the chicken breasts horizontally, making sure not to slice all the way through. Cover chicken breast with parchment or plastic wrap and use a mallet to flatten the chicken, about ⅓ inch (8 mm) in thickness.
- Place chicken breasts in the marinade and chill for about 2 hours or overnight.
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to a large pan over medium heat. Once hot, add garlic and cook until aromatic, about 30 seconds. Add the onion and bell peppers, and cook until soft.
- Remove the chicken breast from the marinade and lay flat. Spoon a layer of the onion and the bell pepper mixture across the chicken breast, then add a layer of spinach.
- Roll up chicken breast and secure with a toothpick, about 1½ inches (4 cm) apart. Cut the chicken breast in half.
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to a large pan over medium heat. Once hot, place chicken rolls inside the pan, cook until inside is no longer pink, about 6 minutes on each side. Remove from pan.
- Add reserved marinade to the pan and cook until caramelized, about 3 minutes.
- Serve drizzled in caramelized marinade.
- Enjoy!

- To make cakes: Preheat oven to 350°F and coat 3 quarter sheet pans with cooking spray and lightly flour the bottoms.
- Follow white cake box instructions to make cake batter. Pour 1/3 of the white cake batter into 1 of the prepared pans. Pour another 1/3 into a separate bowl. Mix in several drops of red dye to one bowl until a red cake batter forms, and repeat the process with the blue dye and the other bowl of batter. Transfer each to the remaining pans.
- Bake the red, white, and blue cakes according to the package directions, or until a toothpick test comes out clean. Allow them to cool 5 minutes before flipping the cakes onto a wire rack to cool completely. Using a 1-1/2-inch round cookie-cutter, cut circles from each of the baked cakes. With a serrated knife, carefully trim off the browned, baked bottoms of each cake circle.
- To assemble: Lightly roll the outer ring of each cake in simple syrup, then roll in the corresponding sanding sugar color (i.e.: roll the blue cake in blue sanding sugar). Using a jumbo straw (a bubble tea straw will work), punch out the centers of the cake circles. Save the red and blue centers to use as plugs for later. Using a serrated knife, carefully split both the red and blue cake plugs into 2 thinner plugs. Insert the blue cake plugs into the bottoms of the blue cake circles. Pipe a line of frosting around the tops of the blue cake circles and stack the white cake circles on top, firmly pressing down to glue the 2 together. Repeat this process to glue the red cake circles to the white cake circles.
