These tuna patties taste like crab cakes, and are easy to make. I like putting the patties on buns and topping them with pickled jalapenos... YUM.

Provided by rpgaymer

Categories     Tuna

Time 15m

Yield 4-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 (5 ounce) cans tuna, drained and flaked
1 cup breadcrumbs
3 celery ribs, finely chopped
1 cup mayonnaise (I use the light kind- works well)
4 tablespoons chili paste (like Sambal Oelek)
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 -2 teaspoon celery salt (to taste)

Steps:

  • Combine the tuna, bread crumbs, celery and mayo in a large bowl. Blend in the chili paste, lemon juice, and celery salt. Mix everything well.
  • Form 4-8 patties, depending on how large you want them. Fry lightly in a sprayed skillet over medium heat about 5-8 minutes, flipping once. Patties are done once they are well-browned.

TASTY TUNA PATTIES

Tasty Tuna Patties image

If you're ever pressed for time, start with a couple cans of tuna and you'll have a delicious patty in no time that you can serve a number of different ways. Add them to buns with your favorite toppings for sandwiches, serve them alongside a fresh salad, or make smaller versions of them and serve them as appetizers with tartar sauce on the side. There are a lot of great flavor elements in these easy and versatile patties, but the quantities are small so the flavor still comes out pretty mild. If you're looking for a stronger flavor, increase quantities as you like!

Provided by Rebekah Rose Hills

Time 20m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 (5 ounce) cans tuna in water, drained
2 large eggs
¾ cup dry bread crumbs
1 ½ tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 ½ tablespoons finely diced celery
½ teaspoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
⅛ teaspoon dried dill weed
1 tablespoon oil, divided, or as needed

Steps:

  • Combine tuna, eggs, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, celery, lemon juice, seafood seasoning, mustard, pepper, and dill in a bowl; stir gently until fully and evenly combined. Shape mixture into 4 patties.
  • Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. When oil is hot, gently lay 2 tuna patties into the skillet. Don't over crowd - only add as many patties as comfortably fit with room to flip them.
  • Cook tuna patties until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes per side, adjusting the heat as needed if they're cooking too quickly. Repeat with remaining patties, adding remaining oil as needed.

BAKED TUNA PATTIES : 7 STEPS (WITH PICTURES) - INSTRUCTABLES

From instructables.com
Estimated Reading Time 3 mins
  • Ingredients. You may print the recipe here if you like. Ingredients: 1/2 cup traditional breadcrumbs or almond flour (45g) 1/4 tsp. salt (1g)
  • Dry Ingredients. Begin by preheating the oven to 375 F or 190 C. Then in a small bowl mix together the breadcrumbs or almond flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Wet Ingredients. In a separate bowl mix up the egg, then add the water (tuna water from the can), oil, and mustard and mix those all together until well combined.
  • Tuna Time. Add the canned tuna to a large bowl and then add the egg mixture, the chopped parsley, and the breadcrumbs mixture. Mix everything together really well with a fork or wooden spoon.
  • Form the Patties. Now, I usually divide the tuna into fourths inside the bowl, so I can keep them roughly all the same shape. Then with very clean hands, or wear gloves, grab the tuna mixture and pat it together in your hands to form the tuna patty.
  • Bake Those Patties. Now, place the tuna patties on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Then bake them in the oven for 10 minutes.
