Steps:
- Melt the butter in a large (10 to 12-inch) saute pan. Add the potatoes, onions, salt, and pepper and cook over medium-low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally with a flat spatula, until the potatoes are evenly browned and cooked through. (Allow the potatoes to cook for 5 minutes before turning.) Turn off the heat and add the parsley and scallions. Serve hot.

Steps:
- Coarsely grate the potatoes and onion into a clean tea towel and then squeeze out the excess liquid by twisting the towel. Place the mix in a large bowl.
- Add the egg, a good couple of pinches of salt and freshly ground black pepper (you need to salt the mixture well otherwise the hash browns can be quite bland). Mix the ingredients well.
- Heat a good glug of oil in a heavy based frying pan and when the oil is hot (but not smoking), add spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the pan and flatten into patties about 1cm/½in thick. Flip over once browned and crispy - about 2-3 minutes each side.
- Serve hot as a breakfast or supper side dish. Especially good with bacon and eggs.
BREAKFAST HASH BROWNS RECIPE
Hash browns has been one of my favorite breakfast food ever since I was introduced to the American Breakfast. The crunchiness of the shredded potatoes along with sprinkled salt and pepper alongside pancakes and a bowl of fresh fruits is delectable. The part children love it due to its crunchiness and low spice content. You can make them into tiny pancakes or make a large one and slice it to portions. Steps:
- To begin making the Breakfast Hash Browns Recipe, mix all the ingredients well in a large bowl until well combined.
- Heat about 1/4 cup of oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. When oil is sizzling hot, place potatoes into the pan and spread to cover evenly the whole bottom of the pan.
- Cook until golden and crisp, 5 to 7 minutes, and then flip and cook another 2 minutes. Transfer to a paper-towel-lined sheet to drain the excess oil.
- You could alternatively do smaller portions at a time by dividing the potato mixture into 7 to 8 portions and then cooking them separately on the pan.
- Remove from pan, and drain on paper towels and serve hot.
- Season the Breakfast Hash Browns with salt and pepper and serve along with Chilli Cheese Toast Recipe, boiled eggs and a glass of Homemade Fresh Orange Juice Recipe.
VERY EASY HASH BROWN
A very easy and tasty hash brown recipe. You can also add some bacon, onions, herbs, etc. to it. Experiment yourself!! You will need a large clean towel to remove the juice from the potatoes, and this step is very important, otherwise it won't come out crispy. Also, be generous on the amount of oil when you cook the hash brown, oil makes it crispier.

Steps:
- Peel the skin of potatoes if they are dirty, otherwise you can also leave them on.
- Fine julienne cut the potatoes ( I used the julienne cut on my hand slicer).
- Try to squeeze all the juice from the potatoes with a towel.
- Flavor with salt and pepper according to taste.
- Heat oil on a skillet pan (non-stick is a good choice). Be generous on the oil, it will make your hash brown very crispy.
- On medium-high heat, pour the potatoes on the pan and try to make it flat and round. Do not stir it.
- Turn it over when golden brown and it's done when both sides are golden and crispy.

There are many things you can change about this recipe including making it without meat or use ham instead of sausage, corn flakes instead of rice chex. It is simple, delicious and always a hit. - Peel and wash the potato. Grate or thinly cut the potatoes into a bowl of cold water. Stir to loosen up the starch and empty the water. Fill bowl with cold water and rinse again. Lay them out to dry – you can use paper towels to fasten the drying process.
- Once the potatoes are as dry as they can be, heat up a skillet over medium heat and add clarified butter to the skillet. Put potatoes into the hot skillet and season generously with salt and pepper. Sprinkle in some cayenne. Let them cook for a few minutes and turn the cooked bits into the uncooked bits. You should see bits of brown when flipping. Do this every few minutes. You may need to add more butter as you go. Taste for seasoning as well.
- Once the hash brown is cooked to your liking, Put them on a plate and pour gravy and add chopped chives on top. Using the same pan, fry an egg to your liking and place next to the hash browns. If you’ve still got turkey, add that to your breakfast dish.
