A hint of maple and cinnamon gives these candy-coated walnuts just the right amount of sweetness.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Coarse salt
2 cups walnuts (6 ounces)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Stir in maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Bring to a simmer (mixture should be frothy), about 3 minutes. Add walnuts, and toss to coat using a rubber spatula. Cook, stirring, until sauce is syrupy and bubbly, about 3 minutes.
  • Transfer walnut mixture to a parchment-lined baking sheet, and spread into a single layer. Bake until walnuts are caramelized, about 10 minutes. Transfer sheet to a wire rack. Stir, and let stand until cool and hardened, about 30 minutes.

2 cups walnuts
1/2 cup Canadian Maple Syrup

Steps:

  • Pre-heat your oven to 325F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix the walnuts and maple syrup in a small bowl.
  • Spread the maple coated nuts on the parchment paper and bake in the pre-heated oven for 10 minutes.
  • Once the 10 minutes are up, stir the nuts with a wooden spoon. Return to the oven and bake for another 3-5 minutes.
  • Once the maple syrup starts to lightly 'foam' remove the entire sheet from the oven and cool on a wire rack until the nuts can be easily handled and broken apart.
  • Store the maple candied walnuts in a glass mason jar or other air tight container for best results.

2 cups walnut halves
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon butter or unrefined coconut oil
1 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch or two of sea salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Whisk together syrup, oil, cinnamon and salt. Spread walnuts in a 9×13 baking dish and pour topping over the nuts.
  • Stir well with a spoon. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, watching carefully so they don't burn.
  • As soon as they come out of the oven, stir them up so the syrup sticks to the nuts and not the pan.
  • Immediately transfer the nuts to a plate to cool. Store in an airtight container and use within one month.

  • In a nonstick pan, lightly toast the walnuts over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until fragrant, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the maple syrup and stir until the walnuts are evenly coated and the syrup begins to get bubbly. Reduce heat and cook for an additional 30-60 seconds, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Keep stored in an airtight container. Enjoy!

My daughter Kelleigh learned this recipe at culinary school. They are quite addictive just plain or you can use them in salads. This is definitely a recipe that you should go out and buy parchment paper for as it will make your life easier in the clean up!

3 cups walnuts
1 cup honey
1 cup butter (sliced)

Steps:

  • PreHeat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • On a cookie sheet "with sides" place a piece of parchment paper in the bottom of the pan.
  • Add walnuts and spread out into one layer.
  • Drizzle honey over all of the nuts.
  • Add slices of butter and spread equally over top of the honey & nuts.
  • Bake for 5 minutes or until butter and honey melts.
  • Remove from oven and stir nut mixture, then flatten uniformly coated nuts.
  • Bake for 5 more minutes.

These are a must to make for the holidays (or anytime) they are so simple to make! These can be made up to 4 days ahead and store in an airtight container. Can double the recipe. To spice the nuts up add in a pinch of cayenne pepper and about 1/2 teaspoon black pepper in with the sugar and salt, but that is only optional. Make certain to generously spray the baking sheet with cooking spray, I use recipe #78579

1/4 cup light corn syrup
2 tablespoons sugar

Steps:

  • Set oven to 325°F.
