Easy Baked Cinnamon Apples image

Baked Cinnamon Apples are the ultimate Fall recipe and so easy to make. Made in one bowl with only 6 ingredients, this recipe makes for a perfectly healthy apple dessert, topping, or side dish you and your family will love all season long.

Provided by Shane Martin

Categories     Sweets

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 large Granny Smith apples
5 large Honeycrisp apples
3 Tbsp lemon juice
3/4 cup maple syrup
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
3 Tbsp arrowroot flour
1/4 cup water
Vegan Coconut Whipped Cream

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 375˚F.
  • Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples and place them in a large bowl. (Try and keep the slices consistent and thin. It helps them to cook evenly.)
  • Add in all the remaining ingredients and toss until the apples are evenly coated.
  • Pour the apples into a 9×13 baking dish (affiliate link), cover with foil, and bake for 40 minutes. Then, remove the foil, stir the apples, and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes. The apples should be VERY fork tender and the sauce should be fairly thick and bubbly.
  • Serve the cinnamon baked apples plain or with a dollop of Vegan Whipped Cream.

HONEY BAKED APPLES WITH RAISINS AND CINNAMON

Honey Baked Apples with Raisins and Cinnamon image

This dish is well suited to apples with a high moisture content, such as Jonagold, Braeburn and Gala; they soften nicely and produce a full-flavored juice that can be spooned over the top of the apples when served.

Provided by Food Network

Categories     dessert

Time 1h20m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 13

3 1/2 cups apple cider
1/2 cup packed brown sugar, plus 2 tablespoons
1/3 cup honey (preferably 100 percent raw honey from a small producer)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
Pinch freshly ground pepper
6 unpeeled Braeburn, Golden Delicious or McIntosh apples, halved and cored with a melon baller
1/2 cup golden raisins or currants
1/2 cup dried apricots, julienned
6 whole cloves
2 or 3 star anise pods
2 to 3 cinnamon sticks, optional
1/4 cup apple brandy

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the apple cider, brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for about 25 minutes or so, or until mixture is syrupy and reduced to about 2 2/3 cups.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Put the apples, cut side down, in a 12-inch baking pan. Distribute the raisins, apricots, cloves, star anise, and cinnamon sticks, if using, over the apples. Pour the hot syrup over the apples. Cover the pan with aluminum foil.
  • Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until the apples are almost tender when pierced with the tip of a sharp knife. Remove from the oven, turn the apples over, add the brandy. Baste apples with the apple cider and apple brandy many times, allowing the apples to absorb the flavor. Let the pan stand, covered, for 15 minutes. Serve baked apples with the liquid and dried fruits spooned over them in a bowl. Served with whipped heavy cream or ice cream and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

EASY CINNAMON BAKED APPLES

Easy Cinnamon Baked Apples image

Easy Cinnamon Baked Apples requiring simple ingredients and 1 bowl, plus naturally sweetened! The perfect grain- and gluten-free plant-based dessert for the holidays and beyond!

Provided by Minimalist Baker

Categories     Dessert

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 12

6-7 medium to large apples
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp coconut oil ((optional))
2/3 cup coconut sugar ((or sub organic cane sugar // sub up to half with stevia to taste*))
1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp fresh grated ginger*
1 pinch nutmeg
3 Tbsp cornstarch or arrowroot starch ((for thickening the sauce))
3 Tbsp fresh apple juice or water
1 pinch sea salt
Coconut Whipped Cream
Vanilla Bean Coconut Ice Cream*

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (176 C) and set out a 9x13-inch (or similar size) baking dish.
  • Peel and core apples, quarter, and use a paring knife to thinly slice lengthwise (see photo). The thinner the better! Just try to be consistent so they cook evenly.
  • Add to baking dish and top with lemon juice, coconut oil (optional), coconut sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cornstarch (or arrowroot), apple juice (or water), and a healthy pinch of salt. Toss to combine. Then loosely cover with foil.
  • Bake for 45 minutes (covered). Then carefully remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the apples are very fork tender (especially in the center of the dish) and slightly caramelized (see photo).
  • Enjoy as is or with Coconut Whipped Cream or Vanilla Bean Coconut Ice Cream! Best when fresh, though leftovers keep covered in the refrigerator up to 3-4 days or in the freezer up to 1 month. Reheat in the microwave or in a 350-degree F (176 C) oven (covered) until warmed through. Add a bit of water if the "caramel" sauce is too thick.

CINNAMON BAKED APPLES

Cinnamon Baked Apples image

Quick and easy baked apples are an old-fashioned comfort food. They can be made in the microwave, or baked in the oven. I often make them a little less sweet by using brown rice syrup instead of the honey. Maple syrup is a good alternative as well.

Provided by Jenny Sanders

Categories     Dessert

Time 14m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cooking apples
2 tablespoons raisins
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • Core the apples and pare a 1-inch strip of skin from around the middle of each to prevent splitting.
  • Place the apples in two 10-oz custard cups.
  • Pack the raisins into the apples.
  • Mix the honey and cinnamon, pour over the raisins and into the apples.
  • Top with butter.
  • Cover tightly and microwave on high (100%) until tender when pierced with a fork, 3 to 4 minutes. If you prefer, they can also be baked at 375°F for 30 minutes.

  • Preheat your oven to 375F. Add the oats, chopped pecans, dried fruit, coconut sugar, cinnamon nutmeg, and melted butter to a bowl. Then mix that together until it's well combined.
  • Using a melon baller or paring knife, core the tops of the apples. Then scoop out some of the apple, so that you have a cavity about an inch and a half wide. Just make sure you don't core through the bottom of the apple.
  • Remove about 1/2" of the skin around the top. This helps to prevent the apple skin from bursting when baking. Transfer your apples to a baking dish, standing them upright, and if they wobble you can slice a little bit off the bottom to make them more stable. Then squeeze the lemon over the top edge of the apple.
