MOIST DELUXE DARK CHOCOLATE CAKE MIX(COPYCAT-DUNCAN HINES)
Oh Yeah! Now I can make my own cake mixes just like the big boys! This would make a nice gift, along with a cake pan, large mixing spoon, some cocoa, maybe a pot holder, etc. Enjoy! Chocolate cake is popular all over the USA! New England, Southern, Mid West, Mid Atlantic, West and Southwest.

Steps:
- Combine flour, sugar,cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Now stir to combine. Add shortening, using electric mixer on medium speed to blend the shortening into the dry ingredients. Completely mix shortening until you can't see any chunks. This is the mix which may be kept in a sealed container for several months.
- To make the cake:.
- Preheat the oven to 350*F. Grease sides and bottoms of two 9" baking pans, or one 9x13" pan. Lightly flour the greased pans. Blend the dry cake mix(above) with water, oil, and eggs in a large bowl with the mixer at low speed until just moistened. Kick up the speed to medium and mix about 2 more minutes.
- Pour batter into pans and bake 30-33 minutes for the 9" pans and 35-38 minutes for the 9x13" pan.If you wish to make cupcakes, bake for 19-22 minutes.

- 1. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Stir to combine. Add shortening, then use an electric mixer on medium speed to blend shortening into dry ingredients. Mix until no chunks of shortening are visible. This is your cake mix, which you can keep in a sealed container for several months until you are ready to make the cake. 2. To make the cake preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease the sides and bottom of two 9-inch baking pans or one 13x9-inch pan. Lightly flour the greased pans. 3. Blend dry cake mix (from step #1) with water, oil and eggs in a large bowl with an electric mixer at low speed until moistened. Increase speed to medium and beat for 2 more minutes. 4. Pour batter into pans and bake for 30 to 33 minutes for 9-inch pans, and 35 to 38 minutes for 13x9-inch pan. You can also make cupcakes with the mix. They take 19 to 22 minutes.
RICH & MOIST DARK CHOCOLATE CAKE (USES CAKE MIX)
This is a decadent and rich moist dark chocolate cake recipe, but it's quick & easy as a boxed cake mix is used. You can make this simple in a bundt pan & serve without frosting with just a dusting of confectioners sugar... or you can prepare it our favorite way by making it into a delicious layer cake using canned or homemade dark chocolate frosting... This is my hubby's favorite that I make for him on Valentine's Day and his Birthday every year...

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray two 8" pans with cooking spray (or spray bundt pan).
- Blend together cake mix, oil, water, eggs, and sour cream in large bowl on low speed for 1 minute then medium high speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in chocolate chips by hand then pour batter evenly into pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes (or 40 minutes for bundt pan) until done. Remove from oven & let cool in pans on wire rack for 15 minutes before removing from pans.
- Cool completely before frosting.
