This is a recipe that has been in our family for years. I think it actually came off of the side of a cake mix.When Fall arrives this is one of the first things that is baked in my kitchen.

Number Of Ingredients 6

Ingredients

2 can(s) 21 oz @ comstock apples
1 box duncan hines white cake mix
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c melted butter
1 tsp cinnamon
whipped topping or vanilla ice cream

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Arrange both cans of apples in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan.
3. Combine cake mix, brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon. Stir til thoroughly blended. ( Mixture will be crumbly.)
4. Sprinkle crumbly mixture over the apples. Bake for 50-55 minutes or til lightened browned and bubbly. Serve warm with whipped topping or ice cream.
