Steps:
- Bring the sugar, water and the split vanilla bean to a boil.
- Cool.
- Store in the refrigerator.
- Fill the canning jars 2/3 full with dried cherries.
- Don't over stuff the jars because the dried cherries will absorb the delicious liquids and expand.
- Fill the jars 1/4 full with the vanilla simple syrup.
- Top off the jars with bourbon.
- Add the lid and ring.
- Allow them to sit over night.
- The longer they sit the more delicious they become!
- Print out the free printable, and affix the tag to the top of the jar.
- Give as a gift.

DRUNKEN CHERRIES
This makes a wonderful gift, especially around the holidays with its vibrant color. This should be stored for 8 hours before eating (in order for the flavors to develop) and last up to 1 week. It is lovely served over vanilla ice cream or used as a topping for cheesecake (or any other dessert).
