This taco seasoning uses basic pantry staples and can be tossed together in an instant. No need to buy the seasoning packet ever again!

- In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, cumin, cornstarch, salt and pepper.
- To use: Brown 1 pound of ground meat in a skillet. Add the taco seasoning and 2/3 cup water, bring to a simmer and cook, stirring, until thickened, about 4 minutes.

Yield: 4 batches (about 1 cup total). , To prepare tacos: In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add 1/4 cup taco seasoning mix and water. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Fill each tortilla with 1/2 cup beef mixture.
