- The best ingredients to use. DIY face mists are super easy to make and you can experiment with all the ingredients that you love. As the base, you can steep any herbal tea (green, peppermint and chamomile are favourites), plus whatever essential oil is your jam (avoid citrus-based oils as they can have a photosensitive effect causing skin pigmentation in the sun).
- Bottle it up. You’ll need a small sterilized glass spritz bottle or atomizer to store your new concoction in. You can usually find these at your local health food store or online.
- Skin need a detox? Try green tea. Full of antioxidants and great for oily or acne-prone skin, this mist is quick and easy to make. Antioxidant Green Tea Toner.
- Coconut and aloe to hydrate. Coconut water is a tropical hydrator that contains cytokinins — a cell regenerator and magic anti-aging ingredient. Aloe vera is super soothing and great for all skin types.
