This drink is best when the ingredients are fresh, ripe and in season, you will be ensured to get the best nutritional value then. This is one of my favorite juices because its quick and easy to make, boosts your energy and tastes great. I hope you will enjoy it.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 melon, chilled, fresh, ripe, sweet, halved and seeded (orange flesh, or cantaloupe)
2 1/2 c mango juice, good quality, chilled
4 Tbsp orange juice, cara cara, fresh squeezed, chilled
1 tsp lime juice
1 tsp sugar (white or coloured, rimming for glass)
2 slice orange - cara cara
2 slice lime

Steps:

  • 1. Scoop the melon flesh into a blender, add the fresh orange juice and mango juice and blend until smooth.
  • 2. Rub the lime juice on the glasses and dip in the sugar to rim the glasses.
  • 3. Pour into a chilled glass and decorate with your orange and lime slices.

1 large orange, halved
2 large mangoes, peeled and stoned
2 tablespoons orange zest, finely grated
3 tablespoons low-fat plain yogurt
3 tablespoons low-fat creme fraiche
2 chocolate squares, grated

Steps:

  • Set your freezer to rapid freeze at least 30 minutes before required and remember to return it to its normal setting afterwards.
  • Scoop out the flesh from the oranges, leaving the skins intact. If necessary, cut a small slice off the base of each orange half so that they stand upright. Put the orange and mango flesh, orange zest, yoghurt and crème fraîche in a blender. Blend for a few minutes until smooth. Spoon the mixture into a freezeable container and freeze for 2 hours, stirring occasionally to break up the ice crystals.
  • Spoon the mixture into the orange halves. Return to the freezer and leave for at least 1 hour, or until frozen solid. Let soften in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve 2 orange halves per person sprinkled with some freshly-grated chocolate.
  • Variation: You could use pink grapefruit instead of the oranges; add 2 tablespoons of finely grated zest to the yoghurt mixture. You could simply freeze the mixture in a container and serve it in scoops after letting it soften in the refrigerator.

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 lbs ripe mangoes, peeled, pitted, chopped
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons orange zest, finely grated
2 tablespoons dry pectin (1 oz. or 1/2 pkt)
3 cups sugar

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine mangoes, lemon, orange juice & zest, and pectin.
  • Crush with potato masher.
  • Heat & stir over high heat, bring to a boil.
  • When it is a rolling boil, stir in the sugar, return to rolling boil, cook for TWO minutes (exactly); continue stirring.
  • Remove from heat, spoon into HOT jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.
  • Cover with lids and rings; process in a hot-water bath for 10 minutes.
