Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With an electric mixer, beat butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar; beat until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla. With mixer on low, add flour and salt in two additions, beating until just combined.
- Generously coat two 8 1/2-by-4 1/2- by-2 1/2-inch loaf pans (1 1/2 quarts each) with cooking spray; immediately pour in batter (pan will seem full). Tap pans on work surface to eliminate any large air bubbles.
- Bake until golden and a toothpick inserted in the centers comes out almost clean, 60 to 75 minutes (if the tops begin to brown too quickly, tent with aluminum foil).
- Cool 10 minutes in the pan. Turn out the cakes; cool completely, with top sides up, on a wire rack.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 325F and place a rack just below center.
- Butter and flour (or spray and flour) a 12-cup Bundt or tube pan. Set aside.
- Cream the butter, shortening and sugar together in a stand mixer on medium speed for about four minutes or until it is white and fluffy. Scrape bowl occasionally.
- Add the cream cheese and beat again until light and fluffy. Scrape bowl occasionally.
- Alternately add the flour and eggs, beginning and ending with the flour. (One cup flour then three eggs, one cup flour and the last three eggs, the final cup of flour). Make each addition after the previous has just been combined. Scrape the sides occasionally.
- Add the vanilla, mix just until combined. Remove the bowl from the mixer and using the spatula you were scraping the side with, scrape up from the bottom to make sure all of the ingredients are incorporated.
- Scoop the batter into the prepared pan (this is too thick to pour). Even out the top. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan on a rack for ten minutes and then remove from the pan, put back on the rack (top side up) and cool completely.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 325°.
- 2. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle, cream together the butter, cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy with the mixer on medium speed. (No higher than medium).
- 3. Add each egg, one at a time, blending after each addition. Add both extracts.
- 4. Turn the mixer down to low and add the salt and the flour a little at a time until it is all added. Mix for another minute on low until the flour is completely incorporated.
- 5. Grease and flour a tube pan. Pour the cake batter into the pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle a couple teaspoons of sugar evenly across the top of the batter.
- 6. Bake for 90 minutes in preheated oven or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. (If the cake is not finished at 90 minutes, let it cook for another ten minutes, checking again afterwards).
- 7. Remove the cake from the oven and set it on the counter and let it rest for 10 minutes. After ten minutes, run a butter knife around the outer edges of the tube pan. Lift the cake out from the pan's outer piece by pulling up on the center tube (while using a pot holder). Set the cake back down on the counter and cover it with a cake cover and let it 'sweat' for ten more minutes.
- 8. Run the butter knife around the bottom of the cake, separating the bottom of the cake from the pan. Carefully and quickly turn the cake over onto your flat hand or plate, remove the pan's tube piece, and then flip the cake back right side up on a serving plate.
- 9. Serve with coffee, hot tea, whipped cream, fresh fruit, or other scrumptious things.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a tube pan.
- Cream the butter and shortening together in a standing mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, starting at the slowest setting and increasing to a medium speed after 3 or 4 minutes. Cream on this setting until done.
- Add the sugar a little at a time. Add the eggs, 1 egg at a time, mixing after each addition, until well incorporated.
- In a mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt, and mix with a wire whisk until thoroughly combined.
- Reduce the stand mixer setting to the lowest speed. Start adding a little of the dry ingredient mix followed by some milk. Alternate the dry ingredients and the milk ending with dry ingredients. Then add the vanilla extract.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tube pan and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pound cake comes out clean, 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Remove the pound cake from the oven and let it cool down for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Gently flip tube pan over to remove the cake, and cool the pound cake on a wire rack. If the pound cake cools too long while still in the tube pan, it might break or not come out.
- Cool the cake for 30 minutes before dusting with confectioners' sugar. Serve the same day or lightly toasted the following day.

- (Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F and grease a (large, 10 x 5 inch) angel food cake pan or bundt pan well with Crisco. You can also use non-stick baking spray which contains flour, or grease the pan with butter. If you are using butter or Crisco, sprinkle in a few spoonfuls of flour or granulated sugar over the greased pan and tap the pan to distribute evenly. Pour out any excess flour or sugar.)
- Cream the butter and sugar. (In a large mixing bowl cream the butter and sugar using an electric hand mixer or stand mixer until fluffy, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.)
- Add six egg yolks (For a more flavorful and moist cake add 12 egg yolks. With the mixer running, add the egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.) (Be sure to save six of the egg whites.)
- (With the mixer running, add the flour, baking soda and salt a little at a time until it is all incorporated. Add the sour cream, and mix until it is well combined in the batter. The batter will be stiff)
