This is a relatively simple recipe for making great chicken Parmesan at home. Goes great over angel hair pasta with a big piece of garlic bread, steamed broccoli, and a glass of Cabernet.

1 cup all-purpose flour
3 eggs
12 ounces Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
6 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
6 tablespoons butter, divided, or more to taste
2 (24 ounce) jars marinara sauce, or more to taste
12 slices mozzarella cheese
1 (3 ounce) package Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons oregano
2 tablespoons basil
1 tablespoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Spread flour on a shallow plate. Beat eggs in a bowl. Pour bread crumbs into a shallow bowl. Dredge chicken breasts in flour. Dip in egg and roll in bread crumbs to coat.
  • Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry breaded chicken breasts, 2 at a time, until golden brown, 4 to 6 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate. Repeat with remaining butter and chicken breasts.
  • Layer chicken breasts in a slow cooker, covering each layer with marinara sauce.
  • Cook on low until flavors combine, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Place chicken breasts side-by-side in a baking dish, spooning additional sauce on top. Place 2 slices mozzarella cheese over each piece of chicken. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, and garlic powder on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted, about 10 minutes.

¾ c milk
salt and pepper to taste
2 c Italian-seasoned dry bread crumbs
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 T oil
24 oz jar spaghetti sauce (divided)
2 c shredded mozzarella cheese
cooked spaghetti

Steps:

  • Spray your crock pot with cooking spray
  • In a deep bowl, beat your egg and milk together
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper and set aside
  • Pour your bread crumbs in a shallow bowl
  • Take each chicken breast and coat in your egg mixture
  • Place your coated chicken breast in your bread crumbs and coat well
  • Pour your oil in a large skillet and heat over medium heat
  • Place your chicken breasts in your skillet and lightly brown on each side
  • Take one cup of sauce and spread over the bottom of your crock pot
  • Place your chicken breasts on top of your sauce
  • Gently pour the rest of your sauce over the top of your chicken
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours
  • Sprinkle your cheese on top about 15 minutes before serving, cover and cook until your cheese is melted
  • Serve over your cooked spaghetti

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon pepper

1 large egg, lightly beaten

4 (6 ounces each ) boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
4 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese
Hot cooked pasta, optional

  • In a shallow bowl, combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, pepper and salt. In another bowl, combine egg and water. Dip chicken in egg mixture, then in crumb mixture to coat both sides, patting to help coating adhere., Transfer chicken to a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker. Pour sauce over chicken. Steps:
