1 bottle or can of your favorite dark beer ((I used Guinness))
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in the crock pot, and cook on high for 4-5 hrs, or low for 6-8 hrs.
  • Feel free to change out the spices and herbs and use whatever you'd like.

1/4 c barbecue seasoning (plus a little more for sprinkling on top)
12 oz beer or non-alcoholic beer

Steps:

  • Lightly spray your crock pot with cooking spray
  • Gently lift the skin of your chicken and generously rub your barbecue seasoning under the skin and on top of the skin
  • Place your chicken in your crock pot and pour your beer over the top
  • Sprinkle your barbecue seasoning on any areas the beer washed the seasoning away
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours
  • Place in a broiler safe dish and broil for 2-5 minutes watching VERY closely to crisp up the outside

1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce (Sweet Baby Ray's)
1/4 cup vinegar
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2-1 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except chicken.
  • Put chicken in the crock pot and pour sauce mixture over it. (I usually save some sauce to drizzle over the chicken when I serve it).
  • Cook on low for 4-6 hours.

1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce (I use Sweet Baby Rays Original )
12 oz. can Root Beer (I use A & W)
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Add the chicken to the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle over the oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne over the chicken
  • Pour over the barbecue sauce,
  • Pour over the root beer.
  • Cover and cook on low for 7 hours.
  • Shred chicken with 2 forks and serve over buns or rice.

1 whole or cut up chicken
¾ beer (so you can take a few pulls before dumping the rest in the slow cooker)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp parsley
1 tsp basil
½ tsp pepper

Steps:

  • Place chicken in Crock Pot, breast side down.
  • Pour beer over chicken.
  • Sprinkle spices on bird.
  • Cover and cook on HIGH 4-5 hours, or on LOW 7-8 hours.
  • Remove chicken carefully from slow cooker to a platter. Be careful, it will be very tender, and will fall off the bone.
  • To make the gravy, skim the dripping off, put them in a saucepan, and sprinkle about a tablespoon of flour into it. Whisk it until combined, and add in either chicken broth or water, about two cups. Continue stirring, and cook over medium high heat until it begins to boil. Turn the heat down to medium low, and keep stirring it for a few minutes, or until the gravy is to your desired consistency.
  • Enjoy!

3-6 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 bottle bbq sauce (18 oz)
1/4 c white vinegar
1/4 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 Tbsp crushed red pepper
1 tsp garlic powder

Steps:

  • 1. Place chicken in Crock Pot. (I throw mine in frozen and it works amazingly. You don't even need to break them apart!)
  • 2. Mix BBQ sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, crushed red pepper and garlic together in a separate bowl. (Make sure brown sugar is fully blended.)
  • 3. Pour BBQ mixture over chicken, making sure to coat the chicken evenly.
  • 4. Replace lid and cook on high for 6 hours. If using thawed chicken reduce time to 4 hours so as not to burn the chicken.
