SPOOKY HALLOWEEN EYEBALLS

Spooky Halloween Eyeballs image

These taste like Peanut Butter cups. They are fun to make and kids really get a kick out them. A bit time consuming, but the end-product is worth it.

Provided by Cara Lewis Hampton

Categories     Desserts     Chocolate Dessert Recipes     White Chocolate

Time 3h20m

Yield 30

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 ½ cups creamy peanut butter
½ cup butter, softened
2 ½ cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
12 ounces white chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons shortening
2 drops blue food coloring
½ cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
2 drops red food coloring

Steps:

  • Beat the peanut butter and butter with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in the sugar and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll chilled dough into small, eyeball-sized balls and place on 2 baking sheets lined with wax paper. Refrigerate for another 30 minutes.
  • Melt the white chocolate and shortening in a microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each melting, for 1 to 3 minutes (depending on your microwave). Do not overheat or chocolate will scorch. Dip each eyeball into the white chocolate and transfer to the waxed paper until the chocolate has set. You can chill them in the refrigerator.
  • Stir a few drops of blue food coloring into the remaining melted white chocolate. Make a round "iris" on the top of the cooled eyeball and press a mini chocolate chip in the center for a "pupil." For an extra spooky bloodshot eyeballs take a toothpick dipped in red food coloring and make squiggly lines on the eye.

HALLOWEEN SPOOKY EYEBALLS

Halloween Spooky Eyeballs image

A fun Halloween candy treat for a party or for gifts. For extra ghoulish effect, you can use crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy, giving the eyeballs a bit of crunch when bitten into. This makes a lot of candy so you can half the recipe, if needed. These take a little time to make. Also, you must work quickly applying the...

Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1½ sticks butter, unsalted
1½ cups of creamy peanut butter
4 cups powdered sugar
1 bag of plain chocolate mini m&m's
24 ounces of vanilla almond bark
red food coloring, red decorating gel, or tinted bark
¼-½ cup melted chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. In a large microwave safe mixing bowl, combine the butter and peanut butter. Melt mixture in the microwave for about 2 minutes until butter and peanut butter is melted; stir the mixture a few times during the microwaving process to combine ingredients.
  • 2. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir in the powdered sugar. You may need to use your hands to thoroughly incorporate it.
  • 3. Roll the mixture into small 1-inch balls while mixture is still warm. If mixture becomes too crumbly, put the bowl back into the microwave and warm it up some more.
  • 4. Place balls on 2 cookie sheets lined with wax paper. Refrigerate or freeze for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile....
  • 5. Melt the vanilla almond bark in a double boiler.
  • 6. Bring out one cookie sheet of peanut butter balls at a time. Using a tooth pick, dip peanut butter ball in the coating and then gently tap the ball on the side of the pan to remove excess coating. Then Use a small knife to try and scrape a little of the excess coating off the bottom to help prevent a big glob on the bottom. Place ball back on cookie sheet and twist the toothpick gently to remove it.
  • 7. Gently press an M&M on top of the toothpick hole while coating is still warm.
  • 8. Using a tooth pick, dip it into red coloring and add squiggly lines into coating to make blood shot eyes. (you can use some prepared red icing out of a tube, if you wish)
  • 9. Melt the chocolate chips in a small microwave safe bowl. Using a toothpick, dot the centers of each M&M. Chill candy on a cookie sheet until firm. Store in an air tight container.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups peanut butter

blue food coloring

  • Roll into small balls, chill on wax paper for another 1/2 hour.

EYEBALL MEATBALLS: HALLOWEEN PARTY FOOD

Eyeball Meatballs: Halloween Party Food image

These creepy eyeball meatballs are a festive Halloween food idea that you can do in no time. Juicy, tender meatballs dressed up for your Halloween party! Filling, delicious and a scary fright for your guests to nibble on!

Provided by Michele Hall

Categories     APPETIZERS

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1.5 lbs Ground Beef
1/4 cup Heavy Cream
1 egg beaten
1.5 teaspoons Lawry's seasoned salt
1 tablespoon Dried Oregano, (basil, Italian seasoning, any herb you have)
1/2 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
6 ounces cheddar cheese , cut into 1/4" cubes
24 green olives, with pimento centers
1/4 cup ketchup

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350*
  • Using a wooden spoon or your hands in a large bowl mix together beef, heavy cream, beaten egg, salt, oregano and panko bread crumbs.
  • Do not pack the meat too tightly, you want to use a lighter touch so that the meatball does not get too compacted allowing for a lighter moist (versus heavy, hard) final product meatball.
  • Once combined, sprinkle gouda cheese cubes over the top and mix to blend throughout the mixture.
  • Form the meat into balls about the size of a golf ball.
  • Cut the tops off of your olives. (See notes.) Press the olive point into the meatball to resemble eyes and place on a plate that will fit into the fridge for chilling. Repeat until all have "eyes"
  • Chill for a minimum of 15 minutes to set the shape.
  • If you are making ahead to use the next day or later in the day, you can make the meatballs to here. The meatballs in the raw state will need to be covered with plastic or foil if you are waiting longer than an hour to bake them.
  • Place Meatballs onto a broiling pan (alternatively use a cookie rack over the top of a baking sheet.) You want the meatball fats to be able to fall to the bottom pan.
  • The meatballs should be spaced 2" apart.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, turning the pan from front to back at the 10 minute mark to allow for even cooking.
  • Allow meatballs to cool for 5-10 mins.
  • While meatballs are cooling place ketchup in a sealed zip lock back. Put the ketchup in one corner of the bottom of the bag and press all of the air out and seal. Cut a small hole in the end where the ketchup is ... then pipe bloodshot eyes around the eye center of the meatball. Serve.

HALLOWEEN EYEBALL RECIPE: GIANT EDIBLE COW EYEBALLS

HALLOWEEN EYEBALL RECIPE: GIANT EDIBLE COW EYEBALLS image

Looking for the perfect Halloween eyeball recipe? This edible eyeball recipe is tasty and gross at the same time. The perfect spooky Halloween treat!

Provided by Marissa

Time 5h

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cans coconut milk, unsweetened
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tsp agar agar
red, blue, and green gel food coloring

Steps:

  • Place a pea-sized amount of each red, green, and blue food coloring in the bottom of a small, heat-safe mixing bowl. Set aside.
  • Pour all the coconut milk and water in a medium saucepan (you want it to equal 4 cups, total). Add 2 tsp of agar agar and whisk until it is all incorporated into the coconut milk.
  • Place over medium-high heat and bring to a gentle boil, reducing heat once it boils to bring it to a simmer.
  • Add the 1/2 cup sugar and stir until all the sugar is dissolved. At this point, give the mixture a little taste and see if it is sweet enough for you. If not, add sugar by the tbsp until it is sweet enough, stir until dissolved, then remove from heat.
  • Remove 1/4 + 1/8 cup of the agar agar mixture and place into the bowl with the food coloring. Whisk until the mixture is black and place 1 tbsp each into the bottom of the six spherical molds (put them all on a cookie sheet for easy moving). Put all molds into the refrigerator to cool.
  • After about 15-30 minutes, check and see if the black mixture has set. If it has, begin adding the rest of the white agar agar/coconut mixture on top of the black mixture evenly across the rest of the six molds, leaving a small amount of space at the top. (Note that if the mixture in the pan has started to solidify, you can reheat to make liquid again).
  • Once all the molds have been filled, place the lids carefully on each mold and press down gently. Put back in the fridge.
  • Allow to chill several hours until eyeballs are fully set. Repeat with the remaining mixture for two more eyeballs if desired. Remove and serve as desired.

  • Eyeball Sandwich Balls - Children love a bit of gory fun, and you can't get much more gory than eyeballs for lunch! Make up a bigger batch for a fun new way of presenting sandwiches for Halloween party food, or just serve some up as snack.
  • Rice (Eye)balls - Shaped rice is a staple food in traditional Japanese bento boxes, and a simple ball of rice is one of the easiest shapes to achieve, with no special equipment needed.
  • Eyeball Quesadilla - Quesadillas are really easy to make and a great way of using up scraps of food left over from making bento lunches. I made this one for last Halloween, turning it into an eyeball by cutting it into a circle, adding a carrot disk dotted with a black edible marker pen and drawing on the 'veins' with a red edible marker pen.
  • Mozzarella Pearl Eyeballs - Mozzarella pearls are available in most large supermarkets, and their ready-made ball shape makes them the perfect instant edible eyeball!
  • Icing Eyes - I had trouble finding these here in the UK, but I finally got around to making my own recently, and it was far easier than I expected! For my easy DIY icing eyes tutorial, see the original blog post here.
  • Mini Marshmallow Eyes - I was really pleased to discover recently that mini marshmallows make great instant edible eyes! Simply cut them in half, dot them with an edible marker pen and stick them onto whatever food you want to decorate - with the right foods (such as fruit) they are even self-adhesive!
  • Babybel Eyes - I often use mini Babybel cheeses to add fun eyes to creative sandwiches. To make, simply cut the cheese in half, leaving the wax intact, and top with blueberries or raisins.
  • Cheddar Cheese Eyes - One of the most simple ways to add edible eyes to a sandwich or other savoury food is to cut ovals or circles from cheddar cheese (or other hard cheese) using mini bento cutters and dot them with food colouring or an edible marker pen.
  • Marshmallow Eyeballs - These eyeballs are a fun treat to make with children and would be great for a Halloween party! For full details and my recipe see the original blog post here.
  • Frozen Yoghurt Eyeballs - Halloween desserts don't have to be full of sugar - these gory edible eyeballs are made from frozen natural yoghurt and raisins.
